Brother Keyaetus
I was thinking about the primarchs, the heresy and such today (as always) when I thought about something, what would it of been like if two primarch's landed on the same planet during the scattering? Could imagine a bunch of different cases, such as them simply finding one another straight away, warring with each other (not knowing their brothers, or even just for the sake of leadership), or both being brought up by two completely different groups. For example, there's cases of primarchs eventually becoming leader of their planet, either due to war, or just simple politics, but what if one was brought up along with the 'dominant' force of the planet, and the other with the low-down 'rebels' or such, who have always been warring against the higher ups, then how do you reckon it'd of went? I know there's a lot of 'what if' scenarios, but it doesn't mean it cant be fun to discuss eh? Darkchild130
it would be pretty awesome if there were no 2nd or 11th Primarchs because they got killed by their brothers before the Emperor discovered them. Ring-around-the-roses
I personally think that they would end up killing the entire planet. From what we've seen in the HH books, they all believe they're the best at they're chosen speciality, and that that speciality is the most important thing in the history of forever. If they did land on the same planet, then war could be the only outcome. Even if they were some of the most peaceful primarchs, the inherent need to dominate and rule would win through, most likely. I really cannot imagine a scenario where they wouldn't go to battle. Even if they somehow ended up working together, they're followers would go to war over whose best, meaning they would be forced to go to war. or sacrfice they're powerbase, and so be the lesser one in their relationship. That in turn would lead to resentment and bingo, another war. Rune Priest Ridcully
Not necessarily, I could imagine logar just rolling over and supporting, almost worshiping a brother if he landed on the same planet as one. Russ and Magnus both landing on Prospero and being taken in by the inhabitants of Tizca could be interesting, as would if Kurze had landed their with Magnus. Just a thought though, could a planet support more then one legion? We know earth did, but how big were they at that point? If a world can support 2 million regular soldiers, it can support 2 million space marines (20 legions times 100,000). Badhaggis
But not all of those 2 million will be sutable for the implants and gene seed, the only thing holding legionary sizes back is the comparitivly small pool of possable recruits. There are billions upon billions of people on earth. And their trials were probably not as rigorous back then. I was just saying logisticaly anyways Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/253956-what-if-primarch-situation/#findComment-3082526 Share on other sites
BloodBrother
well Alpharius sensed that Horus was his brother and stopped before possible killing strike, even though he probably never heard of Emperor or other Primarchs back then. While first meeting between Lion and Russ endend in fistfight that could have ended in someone's death. It largely depends from Primarchs in question (Sanguinius and Gulliman might get on well, but Angron and Corax would probbably go into full scale war to kill each other (theire personalities are so different). gaurdian31
Well Angron might have had a different personality if he didn't have the Butcher's Nails so he might have gotten on famously with Corax. Sons of Horus
I think they would have recognized each other instantly like Horus and Alpharius so they probably wouldn't have fought.
