mughi3
Today i made a challenge against a second tier tau army and as i thought it would be appropriate if we broke out the desert table. 2,000 points seize ground He won first turn and made me go first, not wanting to become railguin fodder i reserved all my units, he did the same. the first 2 turns nothing came in for me or him...going to be a fast game. on turn 3 i got brey'arth in and he got like half his force. One critical shot took down breyarth, but i my next turn i managed to roll on a few more units. i took down his flyer then managed to drop his melta hazard suit before it could get to close. he got his remaining flyer in behind my dreads disabling one and killing a second. His broadsides finally came in on turn 5, did nothing while i in turn did my best to deal with r'ala, the tetras and the remaining baracuda(i managed to take off most of its guns). The broadside finally paid for themselves but taking out the achillies. we each held an objective and the game went on another turn. i proceeded to shoot his broadsides off the table. it turned into another stalemate with each of us holding a single objective. And the game ends in a tie......again it was a fast 3 turns , i came away with lossing- .land raider achillies .X2 ironclad dreads .bey'ath ashmantle He lost- .barcudda .hazard suite .broadside team http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i112/mughi3/batreps/Ka61012.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i112/mughi3/batreps/kb61012.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i112/mughi3/batreps/kc61012.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i112/mughi3/batreps/kd61012.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i112/mughi3/batreps/ke61012.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i112/mughi3/batreps/kf61012.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/253982-home-field-advantage/ Share on other sites
Kierdale
An interesting read. A shame the action only got started in the last few turns. I must say that board is fantastic! mughi3
Well it was kind of inevevitable with a reserve engagement as neither one of us wanted to open ourselves up to a killing blow. I was fortunate his tetras came in on the wrong side of the table so i didn't get marker lighted to death. also having his broadsides show up so late helped out alot because i got to soften up the rest of his army first. Axagoras
If you were going first why didn't you deploy, it would let you close on his line faster. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/253982-home-field-advantage/#findComment-3084162 Share on other sites
mughi3
If you were going first why didn't you deploy, it would let you close on his line faster. I deploy...broadsides walk on, hazard suit jumps in.... and kill the land raiders. baracudas come in and back shot all my dreads. All without me getting a chance to shoot back. I've done that battle before, it didn't go well. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/253982-home-field-advantage/#findComment-3084577 Share on other sites
