facmanpob
So, a mate of mine gave me an old recovered Land Speeder, which has its cockpit essentially completely sealed up with.....well I'm not sure exactly what it is....it's not GS, but its very similar. the rest of it is fine, just primed black. Anyway, I was wondering what to do with it when the thought occurred that I can use some plasticard and make it into a Tempest without too much hassle! WIN! After the excitement had worn off I looked up the Tempest rules, and was somewhat less excited :tu: My question is, therefore, do my good brothers consider a Tempest to be viable within a Ravenwing or Dualwing force? Also, is the advent of flyers for 6th Ed going to make it a better option, bearing in mind that the TL missile launcher on the Tempest is an AA mount? My personal view is that I don't like the synergy between the ranges of the Assault Cannon and the missile launcher, preferring the more closely matched Heavy Bolter/missile launcher on the Typhoon instead. BigGumbo
I bought one 'cos they're cool. Apart from being part of my ETL vow, it's going to be an Apocalypse-only vehicle (6th Ed notwithstanding) as the spotter for my Whirlwind Suppression Force. For general 40k use, I prefer my missile launchers to be Heavy 2 rather than twin-linked and I prefer a heavy bolter to complement the AC - so I'll be sticking mainly with Typhoons and Tornados. Phoros
I reckon that if Flyers are in 6th Ed, Land Speeders will remain as skimmers. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/254005-land-speeder-tempest/#findComment-3082998 Share on other sites
