Where are the metal "Loincloths" from?

From the army log topic I got in the Chaos area

Anyway I have a question, where is this bit from? It is a great bit and I would love to source a few for my projects!

Ork Nobz box set. You got that one with the armour plates & a normal cloth which I'll be make use of both though out this project.

This camera is waaay better than your last one, it actually does these models justice.

Id love to know how you paint your mettalics.

How do you get such depth on your metallics?

I basicly

- Basecoat the model in boltgun metal

- Wash with Badab Black

- Wash in Purple (not sure what the GW purple wash is called)

- Wash with Badab Black again

- Dry Brush bolt gun metal with a big brush. For me I got the old GW Tank brush (red handly) which I had since start my IW force ten year ago

- Dry brush lightly with Mithrail (sp) Silvier

Then taken a GW large brush, highlight with Mithrail silvier. Make sure there a strip of Mithrial silvier across like say the arm. If you look that real metal you'll see the strip where the light is hitting off. In real life this will show on the models, but some how when take photos of the models it drown out the effect.

For Gold is

- Dwarf Bronze

- Badab Black

- Shinning Gold make sure to leave the shade of the above shown in area

- Devlin Mud Wash

- Purple Wash

- Highlight with Burish (sp?) Gold?

& with the new paints

Then testing out the current paints to see if they'll match the now older paints I use on a spare Chaos Marine model.

Pretty happy how it turn out. Only thing is I needed to add two coat of Nule Oil on after words & then paint the highlight, where on the current models it was one coat of Badab Black & the highlight where done before this.

Pretty much as said from the start my Iron Warriors use to be painted with the old GW Inks which are no longer on sale. It why I went from Mk5 force I collected in 2008 to 2009 onto this brand new force, with the aim to add more & not worry about set paints running out. Now I only keep the inks for blood effect & face for my Iron Warriors & nothing else.

So happy to see this just for me to bring my force to 3000pts & possible more with the release of the codex soon. I'll still use my old paints like Boltgun metal for my models needed for Throne of Skulls tournament force.

By all Chaos Gods, i hate you so much!

Incredible work as always, i love it! I like the CSM Squads the most, every member looks like a real individual... :tu:

And the paintjob is fantastic, clear but still Chaos...

Only one thing left to say:

Iron within, Iron without!

I'm off to check out your WIP. I can't leave this thread without letting you know how great it is to see an army done to this callibre. Commiting to a theme and hitting every model with some kind of conversion and a great base is what it's all about. Highest marks from me, don't go start getting distracted with those Templars now.

Thanks for the comments, the WIP topic will be getting a update in a few moments.

Great looking Army every conversion is gorgeous ?

Only one question Mate, the Rhinos Spaced Armor is Standard Forgeworld or Converted...Because I cannot recognize it ?

Thumb Up for your work.

Plasticard, I think there some WIP photos in the topic I link showing the army from the start (Nov last year). Just it allow me my own design & just from the NQ to HND model making course. For the space I just use plastic tubes.
