Gunrunr
Brothers, I would like to share with you today my assault terminators that I just finished painting. I tried out a cool lighting effect on the thunder hammers and I think the end results came out quite nice.
ShinyRhino
Nice work. I use that exact same lightning effect on all my power weapons. It's the Catatafish method from YouTube, yes? My only criticism would be to give the gold a wash of some sort. While it's very shiny, it also lacks depth. What type of gold paint is that, anyway? Yeah, someone else suggested I use a wash on the gold also. I almost did because the gold looked kind of fake and it was kind of bugging me. I'll slap on a wash tonight , what do you suggest... a brown? The gold I used was the dark one, I think its called burnished gold.
Psyberius Daemonbane
I must say that lighting effect is awesome. I might just have a look at this method on youtube...
Honda
SWEET! Excellent job, Gunrunr! I think a Devlan Mud* wash with a light highlight after would finish up the gold very nicely. * I wonder how long it's going to take me to stop saying "Devlan Mud"
Chaplain Hiltraud
Crisp and clean. Very nice work, I agree with the above post, Devlan Mud will work well over the gold, but I suggest adding a *little water to it first. Renoster
Great stuff. Devlan mud in the recesses of the gold and then some burnished gold dry brush would add real depth IMHO. Really liking your shading on the helmets. I'm off to do that right now to my Ultra termies!
