IQ's ETL Vow WIP

I saw E Tenebrae Lux roll around as I was about to start on a competition piece, and figured I'd throw my hat in, so here it goes.

I'm on a deadline (8 days as of this post, actually), so this WIP will be pretty hard and fast.

First, the gist: Bran Solfang leads my Great Company astride his golden thunderwolf. Equipped with a Wolfclaw, Runic Armor, and Stormshield, he cuts through most things with ease. His wolf is more machine than usual, owing to particularly grievous injuries sustained during a charge to bring down a vile Keeper of Secrets summoned during one of Abaddon the Despoilers earlier Black Crusades.

Here's some pics (I forgot to take a picture before I basecoated the wolf, but it's still very early PIP)

More pics, as soon as I get the wolf finished.

I always look forward to seeing your work IC!! I love the two cyber legs on the thunder wolf!! And as usual, you ability to manipulate GS is going to make this model one to watch for!!

Good luck, and good work!!

End of Line

Thanks all; hah, nah it's just good old brownstuff. My greenstuff has kind of gone "bad?" after all these years.

My GC is old, circa M34 or so, so a lot of them still sport older armor marks. I wanted to make sure my lord got a full suit of mkVI :P

Will hopefully get the wolf done tonight and get some more pics up.

Update time!

I'm making good progress, and should squeeze in just in time for my deadline next weekend. The wolf is done, aside from some work on the saddle, and some snow added to the fur. I added a lot more yellow into the wolf fur, as my Wolflord is all about the whole "sunwolf" thing. The lord has had his armor finished, and then I blocked in the basecoats for his bronze, cables, and chipping on the armor.

Pics! (sorry about the quality of some; I took them quickly, and didn't break out the lightbox)

Too late, I'm already in a rush. ;) I built some shortcuts into the model that have saved a lot of time though. The wolf pelt and the fact that he's riding the TW leave a ton of space completely hidden on him, so I didn't have to paint those parts. The biggest thing will be getting the WC arm painted; it's practically nothing but freehand.
I used an airbrush to get the initial transition how I wanted it. At the time I thought it might be quicker (I also did my basic transitions on 2 other TWC that way at the same time) but I think I ended up taking the same amount of time as I would have doing it all with a paintbrush. ;)

This is a fantastic piece IQ! The amount of detail on the helmet and shoulder pads is just breathtaking! I've seen your work before so I had high expectations but this is pure gold! Is there a chanve to see it from a different angle too?

Great stuff... Can't wait for you new vow to take shape! :D
