Brotherhood of 13

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

So this is my first post and I was goin to throw out an idea, have everyone put in their two cents, and see if I could make a kill team out of what I get.

[Pics will be up later tonight of what I have so far.]

So the pitch... A kill team, called the Brotherhood of 13, made out of pretty much misfit marines that are on blood quests, death oaths, chapter has been decimated... and the like. the leader of the marines is a Master sarg. the last of the Marines Of Dorn and they travel around on a modified dropship, something I'm cobbleing together from a storm talon and a land speeder storm with chopper blades to make a 40k style huey gunship. All the marines will be true scale and the dropship will be to their scale.

So do you guys think the marines should be one color or should they retain their chapter colors. If they do retain, any ideas on color schemes or for a solid color scheme. I was thinking of maybe a gray with red and gold.

Also any idea for the marines themselves i already have a heavy bolter, two bolter marines and a regular sarg. If the name didn'd give it away there will only be 13 marines made.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

And don't forget the gravy.

Ok misfits is not the right word, maybe outcasts.

Allthough I do think a demo guy with touretts would be and awesome short story idea... a really short story.

^ yeah mostly four letter ones. Unless he yells out "soup" like the lady down the street from me when I was young. -_-

As far as a motley band of misfits. you could claim their from a lost band of astartes that was jailed in the chapter penitance room deep in the basement for mis-deeds/ what not... and then the chapter top side got wiped out/ killed/ destroyed by chaos/ xenos etc, and so these member broke loose collected themselves and set about to seek revenge on this unknown enemy...

There's actually a great story Dead Sky, Black Sunby Graham McNeil, that has a band of forlorn Astartes from many different chapters that have ended up on an Iron Warriors planet in the Eye of Terror. Reading up on this may give you a better idea of what to include and different chapters

Maybe a bloody palm print on the face of the helm, like the army of sauraman?

Sounds a bit like what the Red Corsairs would do, I think. I dunno, it would depend on the culture of the chapter, really, but I would be inclined to go for markings that seem a little more 'official' than hand prints on their face plates.

So the pitch... A team, called the A-Team, made out of 4 scouts accused of a crime they didn't commit... The leader of the team is called Hannibal and they travel around on a modified Rhino (thats painted black with red stripes). All the marines will be true scale and the bolters will miss everything, even at point blank range.

Fixed that for you.

There two ways to go this route: A.) Their renegades, they foresworn there homeland and they do as they please knowing there gene seed/ chapter is lost. B.) They are loyal still, and there chapter was wiped out save for them ( kinda like a band of lone wolves ie. codex: Space Wolves) and they march on to seek revenge on there lost brethren using the hand mark as their blood oath.

I'm more liking the (same chapter) ones over the multiple asartes form together that to me sounds like a chaos warband.

"A team" Rhino with a spoiler gets my vote.

You could do a group of Marines from those that took part in the Badab wars, who had served together before and refused to raise arms when their chapters started fighting. Decided to go off and serve the emperor/themselves fighting little 13 man suicide wars against the enemies of man kind.

I dont know maybe they had served in the deathwatch together previously or had fought in a campaign and had earnt each other respect. You would have to be careful which chapters you picked like but might work

Cheers

And the dropship, I'm going to add another center section from a land speeder storm... but not till pay day.

the spacing inbetween the parts is an aproxmation of the space for the missing part.

I'm holding the thrusters where I want to position them on the belly of the ship.
