GooseDaMoose: Maverike Prime's Conversion Challenge

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

This is a WiP of my entry (if I finish it in time) for Maverike Prime's 8th Conversion Challenge. I've been outta the hobby on and off now for a year. So I thought since summer's coming up I'd get the ball rolling before I become too busy with chilling out in the sun :tu:

Inquisitor (name pending)

Hey all, I really appreciate all the positive responses :P it's a warm welcome back.

Amsterdam (and the girls, there's about a 60-40 girl to guy ratio here) have been treating me very well. A little bit too well, especially yesterday :P which made finishing her up today very difficult indeed. I don't think I'm gonna be able to finish the backstory in time for the challenge, however, which is a real bummer, cuz I'm quite proud of her. Basically she's a Sister-of-Battle-turned-Inquisitor from the Order of the Valourous Heart, who was taken under the wing of a prominent Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor etc etc.

She's based partially on Darth Nihilus, which is why I wanted to give her a cloak, but I couldn't find any tin-foil, and sculpting a cloak over plasticard is a few days' work at least, so I settled on a shield. I also wanted to give her a veil after I heard about that being an option with the new SoBs (SO COOL), but opted for the creepy no-jaw look instead. Her legs/calfs are bulked out a little to give her a not-quite-human silhouette for extra spookiness. In general, her bulkiness is also because I'm kinda sick of female warriors being these sexy femme-fatale characters. Can you imagine how ugly a real Sister of Battle would actually look? All muscled, angry, scarred, religiously coo-coo and self-righteous.

But I digress.

The cane is meant mainly as a badge of office but it also contrasts her powerful stance to needing to use a walking stick, in the hope of emphasizing her strength and larger than life presence. Sort of like Yoda; walks around with a gnarly stick and the rocks it out when Siths need a-killing. I haven't quite decided what, but something is missing. I'd like to at some point give her a crossbow-gun, and finish the cloak but we shall see...

Hope you like!

Hey Goose

She looks incredible! I really like the pose and the sculpting is excellent.

Ive checked out your Sons of Malice and must say what a great job you have done with them. Its good that you are going to be working on stuff again.

Now hurry up with getting her finished you have only got a couple of hours to go!

Cheers

The Yak
