Psyberius Daemonbane
This is a very nice turn from the "kinghts in shining armour" all my mates paint, that hammer on the Dreadknight is awesome as well, I'm guessing it's thrown and then retracts? Overall decent painting with very nice detail on the Nemisis weapons!
joghurtberserker
thanks for the kind words, i've never been a fan of the grey knight paint scheme, especially after that "nobody. can remember them, deleted memory fluff stuff in the codex. and they are called grey knights, so why paint them silver? as to the deamon hammer, i wasn't sure if it should retract or work like a morning star, but i did know that the deamon hammer is in my opinion way to short. "So brother titus raised the dread knights arms and yelled a challenge at the deamon spawn: Come closer blasphemous scum.... no really, come closer, I can't hit you there." Renoster
How did you do the halberds/sword blades? They're immense!
joghurtberserker
the blades are actually quite simple, starting with a blue basecolor, and then painting ever lighter tones of blue, its not really by drybrushing, like a weter kind of drybrushing, but i don't know if theres a word for it. Renoster
I'd definitely like to see that Yoghurt. I'm still on the dark base, spidery white lines, ink, and over-paint and over-ink method. I call it Renoster's hit and miss method, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone, unless i didn't like them.
joghurtberserker
I call it Renoster's hit and miss method, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone, unless i didn't like them. :) here is how i do it basecoat http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o159/joghurtberserker/4aac94de.jpg base blue http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o159/joghurtberserker/9e4fc8c9.jpg then starting to lighten up http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o159/joghurtberserker/f63833ba.jpg don't mind if you cant see the blue lines, simply paint over it once more http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o159/joghurtberserker/e763cc37.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o159/joghurtberserker/c8b39630.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o159/joghurtberserker/7eb1feaa.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o159/joghurtberserker/6fe969ab.jpg and thats it if you want it to be a lighter blue you simply have to start with a lighter blue as base color i use vallejo heavy blue as the base color and valejo ice blue to lighten up, its easier because you can add it drop by drop, but gw colors or any other should work too
