Try taking them in natural light, and with the camera set on a surface and use the timer, rather than holding it. That should cut out shake. Some closer-in shots too. I'd say the first guy looks pretty good so far but could definately use some washes and maybe another colour around the edges of the armour to provide some highlights/lowlights. Good luck with it!
