Archimonde_Red
Can anyone provide feedback on Army Painter Sprays.... I am looking for a easier way to get at least a Prime Layer on for my Blood Angels. I have used the GW Spray Gun but personally I find that it is a crap piece of equipment and I am tired of wasting alot of time and materials trying to get it to work consistently. I have heard good things about the Army Painter Sprays but was wanting to see about getting some more details.... Currently, here is how I layer my Blood Angels which i am hoping to get some comparison too. Base Coat, GW Matt Black Primer Color: Mechrite Red 2nd Layer: Blood Angels Red Wash: Devlan Mud I also apply some detail work but for the basis of my army and to ease my limited painting time, this is the general process I utilize. If you have any pictures that show finished works with Army Painter applied, that would be great too. Thanks, Guroff Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/254283-using-army-painter-red-primer/ Share on other sites
CainTheHunter
Which one exactly, since IIRC there are two Red Primers by AP - Dragon Red and whatnot? I am using the former and can direct You to some examples. Just PM and I will send You a linkie. Would love to post them up here, but they are not really Power-Armor compliant, belonging to certain skimmer-transport, pain and drug addicted xeno race ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/254283-using-army-painter-red-primer/#findComment-3087935 Share on other sites
Cyrox
I've used Army Painter pure red, it's pretty good The finish isn't super smooth but it's good enough. I used it on this guy: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...=221751&hl= Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/254283-using-army-painter-red-primer/#findComment-3087947 Share on other sites
CainTheHunter
Dragon Red is darker - more like Coat d'Arms Vampire Red. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/254283-using-army-painter-red-primer/#findComment-3087951 Share on other sites
Captain Hajime
I find the Dragon red to much lighter than Mechrite Red, there is a very noticible difference in them. Warbringer
I really liked the Dragon Red Primer and now that Army Painter do their own paint range you can get a pot of it too, spray red, black wash and then re layer with the AP Dragon Red, moving onto Blood Red for highlights.
