Fabian's Revenge

Hey all!

Just wanted to share my latest project:

This was my first land raider. (The front ramp opening mechanism really through me off; if you look closely you can see magnets I glued on before realizing how it worked.) I budgeted 2 months to work on it, but it ended up taking 2 1/2 (though I was busy house hunting at the time).

There are a couple more photos in my blog (see signature) as well as a brief vehicle description. Comments/questions, let me know. Hope you like!

Wow. I just finished building my own redeemer.... safe to say it won't look like that!

Good work - lookas incredible.

As a side note, I also had a lot of trouble with the ramp mechanism... I'm a little worried it's going to fall to pieces if I open the ramp too much!

Thanks for the kind words everyone! And Forza, that's really high praise!

I do plan to do a 2nd Company Land Raider ("Aegis of Ultramar") a bit down the road, as well as a Forgeworld Mk IIb some day. (And if I'm brave enough, I'll illuminate the chassis with the entirety of the "They shall be my finest warriors... They are my Space Marines and they shall know no fear" quote in decal letters :o)

Here are the other pictures in case people haven't been to my blog:

Despite bearing the colors and heraldry of the Ultramarines 3rd Company, the Fabian's Revenge is actually the dedicated transport of 1st Company Veteran Squad Kallistus...

During the first Tyrannic War, the Tyranid fleet had succeeded in landing xeno-forms upon the Ultramarines homeworld of Macragge. When communication was lost with the Northern Polar Fortress, it became the duty of the 3rd Battle Company, under the command of its new captain, to cleanse the infestation there and discover the fate of its 1st Company defenders.

In the aftermath of the war, it was discovered that the Ultramarines 1st Company had been wiped out to the last man. The need to rebuild the shattered Veteran Company resulted in many of the survivors of the Tyrannid War being granted veteran status. In the case of Squad Kallistus, it was the first time in recent memory that a squad, in its entirety, was inducted.

To honor their former Captain for his victory over the Tyrannid Hive Tyrant in Silo 8, and the cleansing of the Northern Fortress, the squad named their Land Raider Redeemer "Fabian's Revenge".

Third Coy! *high fives*

Really nice Raider you have there Tranc, i'll be coming back in the future to look at it for inspiration. Or maybe i'll just save some of those photos on my HDD, if you don't mind?

Edit: also, is the background you've got for it based on anything official, or just pure head cannon?
