Does anybody have the full listing of allies for the Wolves?

From what I'm seeing looking around it seems like pretty much any of the Imperial Armies, it just depends on whether they will be Battle Brother class allies or Allies of Convenience and all that really changes is whether the allies benefit from each others special rules and abilities or not.

Does anybody have the full listing of allies for the Wolves?

Brothers in arms - Black templars, Blood angels, Imperial guard, Space marines.

allies of convience - Dark Angels, eldar, Grey Knights, Sisters of battle, Tau

Unholy alliance - Dark eldar, Necrons, orcs.

Cant ally - Daemons, Chaos space marines, Tyranids

I’m assuming your source is that doubles tourney pdf rulesheet from a couple weeks ago? If so, not that I don't disagree they were using that as a testing ground, but I think it's still unconfirmed.

If you have a different source, I'd love to know about it.

Search for "ally matrix" in the find option and you will see

Seems like this ally matrix from the GW 2v2 tournament is correct. Can you confirm? "

that is exactly it as far as i can see. only the chart is alot prettier! "

Fluff wise I may try using IG as Belisarius house guard from Wolfblade.

This move by GW to put allies back in the main RB and not limit them to the tournament scene is good. The scope to collect snippets of other armies really apeals to me. Though I wonder if there will be restrictions on what you can and can’t take from each codex with a set percentage split favouring your main force.

Apparently not, all I've been able to dig up basically says when you take an ally you compulsively have to take 1 HQ and 1 Troop, and then that gives you access to one further Troops choice, an Elites, a Fast Attack and a Heavy Support from the ally Codex with no restrictions on what units can be taken, points costs or anything. It's to all intents and purposes an additional FOC, meaning as long as you have fulfilled the basic requirements of your own FOC you can take an ally. So an army could literally be 1 HQ and 2 Troops of the main army and 1 HQ and 1 Troop of an allied army and nothing else.

Do these new allied rules mean i will be able to select only units from other codices or wargear? as i would really love to take codex marine drop pods, so i can have 2x special weapons and a tda wolfguard?

It's a separate FOC chart so no, you won't be able to take transports from one codex for a squad from another. You could however perhaps take a Blood Angels Stormraven and after deployment embark a unit of Wolf Guard, Grey Hunters or whatever.

Yeah, you could take it - but you probably can't embark your GH pack in it, unless the rules for Dedicated Transports have been changed.

Storm Ravens aren't a dedicated transport choice though. off the top of my head for BA they are a heavy support choice.

@ Vash113 : You would need to be Brother in arms to embark the storm raven i believe. Actually thats more of an assumption - shuts up -

No but Drop Pods are...

I haven't seen anything conclusive yet on transports and allies, I'm interested to see how that holds up. In Apocalypse units can embark on allied transports but that is Apocalypse, I'm sure it will be addressed in the full rules. If allies can embark on transports it could certainly lead to some interesting things.

Suddenly I'm thinking of adding a Blood Angels Chaplain, Death Company and Stormraven to my Great Company as a Wolf Priest, Wulfen Pack and a... Stormraven... yea can't really explain the gunship other than the rule of cool, but that's fine IMO.

wolves are confirmed Battle Brothers with IG and all marines, except DA & GK (allies of convenience) They are also allies of convenience with Eldar, SoB and Tau.

They are Desperate Allies with Orks, Necrons and DE.

No allies with the rest (Daemons, CSM, Nids)

A leaked image from the new RB over at BoLS also confirms what Khine posted earlier in this thread.

and according to BoLS .. HQ slot = no named characters. Boooooooo! >.> i was looking forward to running Mephiston with my Drop pod WG D;

I think i just decided not to ally with BA now..=x Maybe guard .. or a MoTF..yay conversion beamer in my LF Squads.

Figure those who are still using the tournament sheet for allies might appreciate this.

Hehe, I had this in my last post but brought it down for fear of copyright. =P

As of right now, I have no idea where or what that rumored photo came from. GW has not verified that it is their copyright or anything. Maybe this weekend things will change. ;)
