I am curious, if the rumours are true, (it seems they are) that the DA will be in them, I am curious, how many box sets are you going to buy? I will be buying one for sure, so I can finally restart my DA army, maybe 2 if the minis are that awsome, and see if anyone wants to go halvsies (sp?) for a 3rd.

So how about you boys and girls? (any girls in the DA forum?)

It really really depends on the second army. As a BA player, I can bastardize the hell out of DA icon because they are so close to my own, but if the second army is something useless (orks for example), I probably won't buy any.

Yeah my friends tells me for some weeks now, that the box will contain DAs and CSM, not sure where he got that rumour...

Ill share a box with him maybe, but im not sure at all, except 1 box-set-only character model per army i dont think that there will be much new stuff?!?

I got easily 300-400 if not more marinez....i dont NEED anything i guess :)

Why no box set containing FW marines? Id buy that xD

Basically i just wanted to add some FW stuff to my collection, and then we become the posterboys FOTM army ;)

Well, given the recent raise in the starter set price, it's becoming less and less worthwhile to buy the box. At this point, it's probably not worth buying more than one, since you won't need the rules or anything after the first one. Plus, I've already got a load of models. I'll probably end up buying just the full rulebook, since I'm really liking the artwork and want it as big as possible, along with some posters.
I'll be getting one starter box, and will most likely be swapping the Chaos minis with a friend of mine who plays Word Bearers. Then we will both have two sets of miniatures, plus mini rulebook, dice and templates. That should be plenty. I'll leave one set stock, and the other will be modified.
If it is standard generic Marines without any/much DA stuff on them, then I probably wont get one at all. If it has some decent Marines and Terminators, but the poses are hard to convert, then probably just the one. If it looks awesome and the second army is something I want, such as Eldar or Chaos, or has good grubbins to steal/chop up, then maybe I'd look at getting more than one.

I have 6-7K DA. 20K Eldar and an unknown amount of chaos. So DA Vs CSm or Eldar would work for me... The questions are..

How much will it cost me compared to the basic rulebook and what extra models and doodaas will I get.

Are any of them models significantly interesting compared to other GW models that it is worth getting. So for example I have 4 standard DA company masters. I don't NEED another. However if the box set contains a really cool DA company master it might get me to buy it if I was on the fence about the value of the box set.

Unless there are some unique DA models I will not get one.

It's usually the big BRB for me each Ed. I have tonnes of stuff but if and it's a big if there is something cool in it I'll scrape up the NZ$195+ it will no doubt cost. I will then flick the rest onto the interwebz auctions('cept maybe the little BRB for portability and game use).

See I only know one guy who plays chaos, and sense he already as 10K+ of it I doubt a handful of generic chaos marines would be useful.

Doesn't sound like you have been paying attention to what forces Chaos will be getting in the starter set.

Chaos Sorcerer

5 Possessed (some say Chaos Dread or Chosen instead)

10 Chaos Marines

16-20 (?) Cultists

Anyone who has 10,000+ points of Chaos Marines will probably want anything new, as their definition of what "I have enough Chaos stuff." means is already a bit...skewed.

I'll be getting one, as long as the box contain the small starter rulebook like AoBR did. Since I use DA robes for my chapter's special characters and plan on building a small chaos force at some point, I will have use for the actual minis. But the dealbreaker for me is to have a handy small rulebook to carry around

If it really is DA vs CSM...I'll probably be in a bad situation: besides wanting to have around 4k of greenwing painted (now I have only like 1k) and thinking of actually painting my DE to a TT standard...I'm thinkin of a thousand sons army (heresy, I know).

I'll get 1 for sure, probably 2...or 3 xD

My name is Tanhausen and I am an polystirene addict.

Hmmmm,

Depends on content, I am looking to get another deathwing squad and possibly a dreadnought.

If it has decent versions of either or both (bonus!) I will be getting the set.

Then I'll have the book and dice/templates to use.

Will probs eBay the rest, unless someone on here fancies making me an offer (Is that legal on here?)

Nope, trading is banned ;)

Openly trading on the forums isn't allowed, but putting something in your signature is acceptable, this is how I acquired my 2nd Ed Space Wolf Codex.

Also, I'll wait until I see what the starter set contains, if there are robed terminators I'll be all over it and actually start a GW army haha.

It entirely depends on what is in the box. If the new Chaos codex(es) are any good, and the box does indeed contain Chaos and DA, then I may buy a couple and start a small pre-Heresy Alpha Legion/Imperial Army force. Otherwise, I may not buy any at all as there's not much I need for my marines that the starter set is likely to contain.....I'd just buy the mini-rulebook from ebay once it starts appearing.
