*Furyou Miko
Forces; Sisters of Battle HQ Ephrael Stern (counts as Saint Celestine) Troops 10 Battle Sisters - 2 Flamers - Immolator 10 Battle Sisters - 2 Meltaguns Orks HQ Kopta Kaptin something or other (homebrew character, basically a warboss on a deffkopta with a long range skorcha) Troops 3 Deffkoptas - 1 TL Big Shoota - 2 Rokkit Launchas - 1 Buzzsaw 10 Boyz - Sluggas - Big Shoota - Chinork Warkopta Mission "Trench Warfare" - Battle Missions, Imperial Guard Sisters of Battle take the role of the Imperial Guard. 5 Objectives used Sisters of Battle have a ruined tower (objective), a fortified position (objective) 3 6" sections of razorwire and 2 6" sections of tank traps Centre of the table is a chaos shrine (objective) Orks have a ruined temple (objective), a small wood (objective), and 5 6" sections of razorwire. Mission rules severely restrict deployment (No HQ or vehicles, inc. squads with dedicated transports), so the Orks put down the Deffkopta Squadron and the Sisters place their melta squad in the fortified position opposite. The orks scout 12" forwards, then take first turn (I rolled the necessary 1 to give first turn away! grr) and promptly scoot forward, shoot (to no effect) then assault. The Sisters wound once, but it's saved, taking 3 casualties in return from the buzz saw. In my turn, I take another three casualties and again inflict a single wound which is saved, but am Fearless due to Light of the Emperor. In the second turn, the Kopta Kaptin moves on but is too far from the battle to affect anything. I lose my last Bolter Sister, but manage to wound the Rokkit Kopta at last. My reserves fail to come on, and the last of the melta squad is wiped out. The third turn sees the Orks repositioning slightly, followed by Ephrael deep striking next to the Deffkopta squadron and flaming them for 2 wounds, killing the Big Shoota and wounding the Buzz Saw. In turn 4, the Chinork still hasn't shown up, but between the Kopta Kaptin and the Deffkoptas Ephrael is killed. However, she ressurects, flames the Deffkoptas then assaults them, winning combat by 1 and cutting them down as they flee. In turn 5, the Chinork moves on and fails to gun down Ephrael, but the Kopta Kaptin succeeds in putting her down. Ephrael stays down. The flamer squad and the immolator move on, the flamers moving up behind the ruined tower and running into it, while the immolator moves up behind the Kopta Kaptin and takes off a wound with its heavy flamers. Game continues on a 6. The Chinork moves to claim the temple objective, but can't see the Battle Sisters in the tower. The Kopta Kaptin moves away from the immolator, but also lacks targets. Ephrael resurrects, jumps to the Chinork, penetrates its rear armour but rolls a 1 on the damage chart. Game continues on turn 7. The Chinork, its passengers, and the Kopta Kaptin focus on Ephrael but fail to do anything at all. The Immolator moves closer, but is out of range. The Battle Sisters remain on their objective. Ephrael has a flurry of misses, and is protected by the Emperor in turn against the Kopta Kaptin. Game ends, final score; Orks: 1 Objective, 1 Kill Point Sisters of Battle: 1 Objective, 1 Kill point. Result: Total draw. To be honest, the only thing I could have done differently is start my meltagunners at the back of the board, giving me a chance to avoid the first-turn charge (I forgot Deffkoptas have Scout!). The reserves rolls were cursed for both players for the entire game. ^^; This was also my first time playing at 500 points, and it was quite a novel experience.
