Lupercalian
Hey there, Lupercalian here. Just thought I'd post up a couple pictures of what I've been working on for the old man :P he's overseas now, but he'll be back on tuesday, so hopefully this gift will surprise him! As a student, funds for miniatures come from the coffers of my dad, and I hope that the mini will be a nice way to repay him. He's also been asking me for one, so my only option is to oblige, eh :P When it comes to choice of chapter, I'm not sure why I chose the Fire Hawks. I didn't even shave off the Black Templar cross on the shoulderpad for fear of messing it up irreparably, but I suppose the Fire Hawks scheme was quite stunning, and it gave me the chance to try out some freehand flame motifs on the chainsword and power armour. For fluff purposes, the BT cross will just be a crux terminatus or some kind of decoration :) It's also my first time trying out OSL on a model, so I hope the glowing effects around the lens are convincing enough! Alas, there wasn't enough time for a decent photo setup, so some of the colours might have been oversaturated or washed out. Oh well, here are the pics anyway. -In dedicato imperatum- * http://www.majhost.com/gallery/aspect/wolves/firehawk1.jpg * http://www.majhost.com/gallery/aspect/wolves/firehawk2.jpg * http://www.majhost.com/gallery/aspect/wolves/firehawk3.jpg * http://www.majhost.com/gallery/aspect/wolves/firehawk4.jpg
Brother-Chaplain Kage
It's a nice gift and paint job, but I think the one thing that really stands out is that the OSL from the helmet lenses looks like you went a little overboard. The effect itself appears to be done well, but I think you carried it out too far.

Outlaw_Torn
Yeah man, great job on the model as a whole. Crisp with good weathering. I'd have to agree with the eye lens lighting however. Unless he has his high beams on then i'd agree its a touch overdone.
