If it's the cost of the minis however I may have a solution. It happens that as yours is Iron Warriors they would require some conversions anyway. When I post my first five Ultramarines next week I'll also post a tutorial on turning standard space marines into crusade/heresy era armour marks. That way you may have enough spare bits to assemble your first five, and if not then at least you wouldn't have to fork out for the forgeworld armour marks. I tend to save for a few months and get a big order but I guess that doesn't help you. Anyway I'm back from my holiday and have undercoated my first squad, hope to start painting afterword tomorrow. Rune Priest Ridcully Posted August 12, 2012 Author Share Posted August 12, 2012 Wow, I go away for a month and then much awesomeness has been sculpted or painted, especially the sanguinary Guard, who are the best ones I have seen. Popped into reading on my way back, and got some flock which I think will work (I am praying it will work this time) and so should have the first five guys finished by tomorrow hopefully. There is still no feedback from forgeworld about those shoulder pads, and I don't want to start assembling the guys before I hear from them, so after these five are done I will properly work on the captain and the stripped squad. I also now have a more clear idea of what I shall aim for with Vulkun, but the rest of the force... I'm not to sure to be honest, will still include the Land speeders, but as Terminators cannot take drop pods am not sure about including them, the idea of a non transport list relying on the troop squads to do do stuff is nice but my Thousand sons are that as well, and am not sure if it would be too similar. The idea of writing scenarios has got me thinking of trying to scratch build some kind of legion crusade/heresy era lander so I could do a scenario of a small salamander force trying to hold the lander in time for survivors to reach it. Another idea I have had is to get a pack of Epic warhound titans from forge world (I love the models) and then paint one in salamander colours, and the other in a traitor legion's, and then possibly make a diorama, the fact part of me has been thinking of attempting to scratchbuild a 40k scal one for the salamanders and my Thousand sons (Know no fears depiction of the superheavy and titan use by marine legions is just brilliant.) Really like the commander there, and the Sicarius model is a nice base for a heroic model. Love the change of head as well! I always see your work and get envious and then feel I gotta paint more Fists! Glad this is still going full steam. I'm loving the updates, especially those IFs and I might have some competition with painting gold from those Sanguinary Guard. Keep up the good work! Your Azkaelon/Dante mini looks like something I want to aim for.
