I looked back a few pages and updated the list. I have switched myself to the Iron Warriors after Flakmonkey dropping out, which means that now the Emperors Children are now open. It's the same skin tabards from Lucius with the little trinkets removed and then sanded down. I wanted them to look like they'd been on this guy for a while, and I was really pleased not only with how the decals came out, but also the weathering. Nothing terribly fancy here in the way of wargear - plasma pistol and an unaligned demon weapon. I was going to paint it black and just gloss the hell out of it. Very few people who have seen it in person have noticed that the sheath for the blade is considerably shorter than the blade itself. It is a weapon of the warp, after all. ;) I started to make a terminator version of this guy, hooves and all, but it didn't even get paint on it. It can make a large difference on saving for your wallet. :) Edit: worked all last night on putting together and converting 5 mk1 predators. Wasn't sure of him at first, had to change the axe arm from the original and have spotted some errant paint around the eyes that will need tidying up but do like the finished result. And does anyone have advice on using transfers? I've tried painting the legion symbol, and I've tried the transfers but I just can't get them looking right and I'm pulling my hair over it, Does anyone have advice on painting the legion symbol, I've tried braking it into parts but I can't even get the shape or thickness of the bottom line/jaw of the drake right. Heathens, the sculpting is really coming along mate. As for my self, the Sons have been stalled for a while due to uni assignments and various real world crap. Sheep; that Contemptor is simply outstanding, the battle damage is very nicely done, but I especially love the Eye of Horus underneath his left arm. I threw you a few pointers over at warseer, but I'll throw them up here as well if anyone else could use some of the ideas on their own models. I'm in love with the stencil type iconography you've added, it seems very militarized which works really great for the SoH as opposed to the flashy boys in yellow I'm painting Two points that I think could make this one a real treat when you're done with it is some blood on the IF as even astartes bleed when you pull their arms off, and then the SoH emblem on the chest, it would look so good if you gave it some depth and make it look lik it's essentially a big gem and then when you add the eye slit you'll have a very nice focal point on the mini And if you want to make the melta arm look cool you could do a superheated titanium effect on it (the yellow and purple hues that appear on jet engine exhausts and on some mototcycle exhausts) as that would add a cool sense of realism and a more used look to the gun Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
