SteelBrigade92
I want to put him in TDA. I want him to take on MCs and other multi-wound models. How should I deck him for this? Wolf Claws, TH & SS, Wolf Claw and Combi weapon or what? Thanks in advance ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/254669-lones-wolves-how-should-i-deck-them-out/ Share on other sites
Myxx
SS and CF in TDA seems to be the most common and pretty seriously hard... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/254669-lones-wolves-how-should-i-deck-them-out/#findComment-3094730 Share on other sites
Rayray
SS and CF in TDA seems to be the most common and pretty seriously hard... Exactly how i field mine. Held his own with some luck against the swarmlord, twice, without dying Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/254669-lones-wolves-how-should-i-deck-them-out/#findComment-3094733 Share on other sites
Thargrim_Bloodwolf
If you want nhim to take on MCs then you should have him with SS, TH, TDA and two fenrisian wolves for extra wounds to keep him alive until he gets there. Guest Drunk Guardian
I'm in the minority but I like to keep him in PA with TH and SS and 2x FW and have him hijack a Razorback from a Long Fangs pack. I prefer the extra speed getting across the table to the extra protection the Terminator armor provides. Also a 2+ save won't help you against an MC or a Walker. Also your Fenrisian Wolves are more likely to survive getting into B2B with your target when protected by the Razorback. I use my Wolves as wound mitigation. Finally, after the Lone Wolf has eliminated its target or severely softened it up I then want it to die if in a KP mission and the PA helps with that too. Not a very popular method and requires more finesse but its worked for me. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/254669-lones-wolves-how-should-i-deck-them-out/#findComment-3095320 Share on other sites

MSpiel
I'm in the minority but I like to keep him in PA with TH and SS and 2x FW and have him hijack a Razorback from a Long Fangs pack. Exactly what I do. Usually I can sacrifice the razorback's unit to staying at a home objective, while the lone wolf hitches a ride in the razorback. With the changes to hull points however, I'm thinking about either getting rid of the lone wolf (changing my list drastically with the new allies rules), or giving him TDA and using him as a counter attack unit for my long fangs. CainTheHunter
I have two. TDA Chainfist Storm Shield, two fen-wolves. PA, Storm Shield, Plasma Pistol, Mark, two fen-wolves Let's see how the 6th edition will change this loadout, if it will. thade
The most interesting (and effective) load-out I've seen yet on a LW is TDA, SS, Chainfist. He soaks a stupid amount of fire (EW, multiple wound, 3++) and hits surprisingly hard. Best case, mire him down with a huge unit and hope he doesn't break them. This, plus 2 FWs was how I used to run my LW. Only problem was he wouldn't die.. even if I ran him up the middle in full view of enemy fire. Now, I just grab a base LW when I've got 20pts to kill and a desire to distract my opponent. Rune_Priest_Rhapsody
I use two different load outs as well, both of which gone over here already: -TDA/SS/CF/2xFen Wolves and -PA/SS/TH/2xFen Wolves in a TL AC Razorback Both are killy, but play quite differently.
