DominicJ
I'm considerimg a captain in termie armour with claws, and 5 hammernators in a raven. Its a points heavy combo, nearly as dear as my rec/dc/raven combo. Any thoughts on if it will be any use on the battlefield?
ajefferism
I think in general Terminators are better now. Power weapons can't touch their armor now. Also, GK power weapon spam isn't quite what it used to be. Put a Sanguinary Priest with them and you have a 2+, 3+ (for hammernators) AND a 5+ save that only Instant Death can negate. Sounds good to me! I usually run a Librarian with TerminatorArmor/Stormshield (with Unleash Rage) with a unit of 3 lightening Claw Terminators and 2 Hammernators with Stormshields. I'm debating making that unit 2 lightening claws with 3 Hammernators or just going ALL hammernators. We'll see... I foresee Deathwing Termies being crazy good in the near future... Morticon
Yeah, I think its going to be good. Id consider the sarge to be a LC sarge. Gonna be better in 6th ed than a hammer (arguably)
Leonaides
Yeah - the reduction in things that will ignore a 2+ save means LC termies just got a survivability boost, and will tear through anything not in termie armour, so it goes back to 'how many time sdo you really need 5 TH/SS termies?' DominicJ
Hammers and shields look better on a captains guard than claws. If rumours are to be believed and powerswords cant crack the 2up termie save, they may not be as game relevent, but still funky, and will hit very hard
