arizonajirts Red Scorpions

Recommended Posts

As some of you have seen I have a farely decent sized Raven Guard army. But thanks to the ETL going on, I have nearly finished all of my raven guard. I then wanted to start a different Space Marine army, and some of the coolest I think come out of the Badab War books. The Red Scorpions are where Im gonna go with this.

So therefore my third vow for the ETL is mostly for the Red Scorpions. I know i wont pull off anything alone the line of Redcorps, but I hope to do them justice.

to start with I will be doing the following models

High Commander Culln

Sevrin Loth and honor Guard

5 assualt terminators

5 scouts

1 Tac Squad (with Apothecary upgrade, Plasma gun and Missile Launcher)

1 Tac Squad (with Apothecary upgrade, Melta Gun and Heavy Bolter)

1 Tac Squad (with Apothecary upgrade, metla gun and lascannon)

5 man Devastator squad (SGT with Bolter and chainsword, 3 missile launchers and 1 Plasma cannon)

7 man assault squad w/o jump packs (SGT with Powerfist, 1 Plasma pistol)

5 man Sternguard Squad (SGT with powersword, bolt pistol, 4 bolters)

7 man tac squad (sgt with bolt pistol, chainsword)

6 man tac squad (sgt with bolt pistol, chainsword)

7 man tac squad (sgt with bolt pistol, chainsword)

I have got Culln mostly done, as well as Loth, honor guard and the scouts, so you will not see them in my ETL WIP page, but they will be here. I will get started on the rest of these this weekend and will have some pictures up soon.

Very nice start to your force - you have some nice solid colours that with a little attention, could make for a stunning looking force. Try some washes and hghlights to help add a little more depth to your colours.

Also, watch out for those pesky mold lines - I know I've got finished models where I though I'd got all of the mold lines only to find I was wrong............

I know they need some more work. but for a weekend, i think its pretty good. i did wash the yellows, golds and bone with serpia, with i use a lot of it. the Mk3 are washed entirely with is was well for an aged look. so I do use wash pretty well. i dont do highlights, dont think they look natural, so I just drybrush the armor with some boltgun (or whatever the hell its called these days) for some wear and tear to the armor. as for mold lines, i know what you mean. they dont bother me as much as most people, but i try to take care of the really think ones and any that look out of place. the way i look at is is that the armor has to have some sort of seem, otherwise, how do they get it on. thanks for commenting Lestat. your comments and suggestions will be put to use to better myself.
