Bane of Angels
Being the gaming dinosaur that I am I was sorting through some of my old gaming stuff in the garage when I came across my old copies of Chapter Approved: Book of Astronomican and Adeptus Titanicus and thought this little snippet might be of some interest to some of the newer fans of the Heresy to see just how it all begun back in the days of Rogue Trader. This is the first snippet in the lore (taken from Chapter Approved: BoA) of 40k that led to the rebel commander "General Horus" being possessed by a demon on Davin with Adeptus Titanicus, then Space Marine and the start of the setting that we know and love today. Frightening to think that was twenty four years ago. http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/hh525/baneofangels1/Heresy.png Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/254921-the-humble-beginnings-of-the-heresy/ Share on other sites
Greyall
Nicely told, love the "third part" references, very 'a la old storytelling'. And of course, thanks a lot, mate it did have the intended effect, it's awe-inspiring to see how much the 40k universe expanded, even taking into account its long existence. Smirnov
It perfectly shows the biblical origins of the tale of Emperor. Lucifer too had third of angelic host with him. Thirdfox
I can imagine a Wolf Priest or skjald standing in front of a fire, narrating those words to several packs of Blood Claws gathered round him. Akylas
Very cool. Has a very mythic feel to it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/254921-the-humble-beginnings-of-the-heresy/#findComment-3106439 Share on other sites
Captain Rolunde
I can imagine a Wolf Priest or skjald standing in front of a fire, narrating those words to several packs of Blood Claws gathered round him. Indeed, a bit of a cautionary tale for the lads. Along the lines of what... was it Ranek(?), tries to caution Ragnar about the dangers of his hatred towards Strybjorn. Also agreed with Smirnov on showing more of the GWs "inspiration" there. ;-) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/254921-the-humble-beginnings-of-the-heresy/#findComment-3106443 Share on other sites
Thirdfox
Yep, it was Old Ranek, after the young pup got tested by the Rune Priests. I imagine that other chapters would also have the Chaplains including this little example as one of their first lessons to the new Scouts/trainees/aspirants.
