hendrik
changes are big! your previously optimised armylist may now beat in the dust thanks to a lack of anti-aircraft, or your characters not being outfitted for challenges etc. 6th editions has changed it ALL and I for one welcome this change! Khine
Wow, they really whacked a lot of power combos people might have been thinking of for allies.. Disappointed that a standard Rune priest is only Mastery level one and Njal is only Mastery level two. Ie. Wolf Priests. Prefer enemy is only for the WP and any unit he joins from C:SW. Sanguinary Priest. Gives Units from C:BA withing 6" Furious charge and Feel no pain. Valerian
Definitely glad they did that though Khine; it cuts out all of the rediculous combos people were dreaming up. Now maybe folks will just get Allies when they've got a narrative thing going, or as they start up a small second army, etc. Nice that some of those special rules do not transfer over. Nope, no mention yet of who gets, or who can upgrade to also have this new fancy Flak Missiles. Valerian
Somewhat surprised they didn't Errata Logan's Axe Morkai. As it stands, now it is nothing more than a Power Fist. Of course, they haven't made a call on Dante's Axe Mortalis yet (whether it'll be a Master-crafter Power Axe, or a unique weapon), so maybe that'll come soon when they realize the omission. Chapter Master Ignis Domus
Yeah, just saw that FAQ entry, Valerian. Very disappointing. A quick point of interest, apparently the Lone Wolf gives us a victory point for staying alive, and doesn't give the opponent one for dying. I'm guessing that was an error. Techmarines/Iron Priests can repair hull points. I'm betting we'll see some more of those. Milez
Missile launchers in the BRB, get a new firemode, flakk fire, S7 Ap4 Heavy1, skyfire. We can shoot at flyers at normal BS. For the moment we can take certain fortifications with Anti-Air weapons. And its a no-brainer we are going to take the enemy's too, its what we do. So you will have two AA guns. So theyre forcing fortifications down our throat too. Hahahhah Oh dear... Ikken
lukas is interesting now , as a character he can accept challenges , if he looses the challenge and dies , his last laugh kicks in . and you can use him with out having to loose the whole squad 1st . he can get his last laugh , guaranteed now against a high value target , and the rest of the squad can survive and keep fighting. i am going to have to take another look at him . not sure he is worth his points or not , but he may have a deterrent effect against some key high value targets (cough mafisten cough ). I think he has a tactical use now . Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/254958-6ed-faq-are-here-for-space-wolves/#findComment-3101670 Share on other sites
Wispy
Frost Axes are worthless. Same price as a powerfist with no obvious advantage over one (aside from an extra attack which I'm like to not use anyways) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/254958-6ed-faq-are-here-for-space-wolves/#findComment-3101699 Share on other sites
Xeenos
"Page 29 – Lone Wolves, A Glorious Death. Replace the last two sentences with: “Furthermore, in missions that award Victory Points for each enemy unit that has been completely destroyed, a Lone Wolf does not concede a Victory Point if he dies in battle. Instead, to represent his failure to meet a spectacular end, a Lone Wolf awards a Victory Point in such a mission if he survives until the end of the game!”" The wording is confusing me a bit here, but it sounds like, so long as the lone wolf can kill a whole unit his living will be a positive. Basically, he goes forth and tries to die, instead he finds great glory and returns a hero, likely added into the Wolf Guard, as the lore suggests. fjgarces
Reading the SW FAQ you can find: "You'll also find that some of the weapons in this Codex are written out longhand, rather than using the weapon profile in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook. Don't worry -These are functionally identical, unless noticed otherwise in this document." So, missile launchers have now Flakk ammo, I didin't found nothing about to using the missile launchers only with frag or krak in this document.
