Blacksad
A Wolf Priest is not a Chaplain so, he can take the energy weapon as they like. So what is he then? Even other posters on this thread have stated that he carries a Crozius Arcanum, which makes him a Chaplain. A rose by any other name......... He's our Apothecary. if I were to wear a sniperrifle, would that make me military, or a nutbag with a sniperrifle? shortysl
A Wolf Priest is not a Chaplain so, he can take the energy weapon as they like. So what is he then? Even other posters on this thread have stated that he carries a Crozius Arcanum, which makes him a Chaplain. A rose by any other name......... But nowhere in the Space Wolf FAQ, unlike every other Marine FAQ, does it state that he's a chaplain with a mace. The fact that this is only missing from the Space Wolves somewhat implies to me that they want Space Wolves to choose, as they wouldn't necessarily carry around a mace because the Wolves are so divergent. You've missed the point completely with my previous post. I no longer care about how you model your weapons; that's your choice. Am I mistaken in believing that a Wolf priest is essentially a Space Wolves Chaplain? Not in terms of rules, but in terms of background. Is it not Wolf priests who have the dual role of Chaplain/Apothecary within the Space Wolves? Does he or does he not carry a Crozius (whether or not it has an extravagant lupine name to it)? He's our Apothecary. Never mind, someone actually answered the question that I asked...... Hfran Morkai
Actually its not a Crozius Arcanum, its the Cruzius Lupine, if you want to get technical about it.... and mine is clearly modeled with a power axe. Every last one of them. Sadly. Ouch, I feel for you bro. I am interested to see where Runic weapons do stand, aware there's another topic for this. But I converted a Rune Priest up and took the Finecast plunge and ordered that classic Rune Priest, so both have axes. Now have they become better monster killers with S5 AP2 and force, or are they toned down slightly from what they were (like every other "power weapon")? To be honest I'm not actually that miffed about the axe thing anymore ruleswise, just can't see how GW think axes are stupidly slow. Akela
I do feel silly for customizing Crozius Arcanums for my Wolf Priests now using aquila symbols from vehicle kits to sandwich modded double-poweraxe heads. Apparently I should have been making it more mace-like, but I was thinking "well, a power weapon is a power weapon, so it should be fine..." Tizzony
P. 35 C:SW Clearly states that the WP is a Chaplin/Apothecary or Apothecary/Chaplin. In Ulriks entry he strangely is equipped with a Power weapon. But WP are equipped with a Crozius Arcanum (power weapon). Karack Blackstone
In my reading of the rules and looking at the models, the rules are very clear. When in doubt, check what form of power weapon the model is wielding. Try a search engine image check for Space Wolves Wolf Priest and compare the weapons. Even the ones that look like axes may be blunt in appearance. I would recommend that if in doubt discuss things with your opponent. I forgot to thoroughly read the entries for power mauls: are they I 1 now? I guess the real question I have is where does one find a cheap to get stash of crozius weapons that look like they should. They seem pretty nice this edition. brainwashed
I guess the real question I have is where does one find a cheap to get stash of crozius weapons that look like they should. They seem pretty nice this edition. The bit that is normally referred to as a "Banner Pole Top" that looks like an imperial eagle with in the Space Marine Commander box set it a great Crozius bit. Another good choice is the back back short banner pole that looks like a long toothed skull mounted on aquila wings is a good choice as well. Good luck! Byrne
have some the old rulings disappeared? I cant find the Njal can only use his tempest powers when going first rule and quick comparison old and new some the things in black do read the same Is this poor eye sight or have they unnerfed him I was thinking the same thing. can a game turn be: player 2 to player 1 now?Iit only say: over two player turns, one for each player. or is it allways considered that a game turn starts with player 1 for all purposes? Valerian
I forgot to thoroughly read the entries for power mauls: are they I 1 now? No Mauls aren't Unwieldy, so attack at model's Initiative. Against models with 3+ Armour Saves, they are worse than Power Swords, but against all other values, including 2+, Power Mauls are a lot better than Swords.
