PaintMyBits
Here is the latest Grey Knights ive painted, Huge 80's pads were the order for the day and i needed them to look different from the regular terminators aside from the different helmets and icons on their backs. Imay add some freehand to the large areas of the pads at a later date but they are pretty much done. http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv247/Ladyboy07/DSC01870.jpg http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv247/Ladyboy07/DSC01871.jpg http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv247/Ladyboy07/DSC01872.jpg http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv247/Ladyboy07/DSC01873.jpg Hope you like them. Captain Hwarang
Great job man. I especially like the white. Are the shoulder pads from chapter house studios? If not, where did you find them? Also, what size drill bit did you use on the storm bolters barrel? I find the one that comes with the GW drill a bit small. Again, great work. Can't wait to see more. PaintMyBits
Thanks mate, the pads are from anvil industries as for the drill size im not sure i just got a big selection from hobbycraft and worked up from a small size till it looked right. Captain Rolunde
Wow, those look great! I've been thinking about painting up some GKs in white armor, I really like the look of what you have here. Nice free-hand work on the tunic, and really nice metal work! Cheers.
Ecritter
Looking great! I used the shoulder pads kinda like that for my my Chapter Master. They make some really nice pads.
Vadskær
Very, very nice models! It is a great paint job - one suggestion though would be to nuance the whites a bit, especially on the helmets, so you can see the edges and hard lines. I don't know if you did this or it is just the pictures which doesn't show :) /vadskær
PaintMyBits
Cheers for the encouragement guys, the helmets do have some black lining in the recess' but the light i used washed the white out. Plus i did try to give the white some shadow but it looked poo. Was a bit beyond my skill level if im honest, just couldnt shade white smoothly enough. Dave said doing the whites on my Sons of Pyron were a bit of a pain ... so I feel for you on that one. Your work is still top notch even with the problem with your whites. Captain Hwarang
Thanks for the info regarding the shoulder pads, I just checked out anvil industries and they have a lot of awesome stuff, looks a bit better than chapter house studios actually. However, chapterhouse does have a huge variety, in case your intersted. I guess I just need more drill bits. Regarding the white: there's a how-to in a recent white dwarf about painting white scars in which you start with ulthuan grey, shade with nuln oil wash, highlight with ulthuan grey, and then highlight again with white scar. Give it a shot, it looks great in the article, and I've had some success using Tamiya smoke in place of nuln oil. Again, great job and thanks for the info on anvil industries, lots of good stuff there.
PaintMyBits
Thanks for the help there i have some tamiya smoke so ill give that a go on the next batch. I doing a stormraven at the moment and it has the chapter house extention and while a good kit and not really completely comparable with pads the resin from anvil was a better cast, the sharp edges just seemed crisper and there was no flash save for the injection point. PaintMyBits
The next five to complete the squad of 10 are done now plus a storm raven. The hurricanes are magnetised and i have another turret from FW for a las variant on top. Land raider redeemer has had all the silver all done now for detailing on that, May try a game with just these guys as ten men and Draigo with the raven and raider come to about 1750! We will see how i fare with 11 men?! ;) http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv247/Ladyboy07/DSC01890.jpg http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv247/Ladyboy07/DSC01891.jpg http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv247/Ladyboy07/DSC01892.jpg http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv247/Ladyboy07/DSC01893.jpg http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv247/Ladyboy07/DSC01894.jpg http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv247/Ladyboy07/DSC01895.jpg http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv247/Ladyboy07/DSC01898.jpg
PaintMyBits
I made the black lining on the white a lot stronger to show the helmet detail better as suggested, i think the helmets look better than the first 5.
Dechande
I really like the paint jobs, great style. Is that the storm raven extension from chapter house studios? Looks ace.
PaintMyBits
It certainly is mate. I feel that if i build another one of these i will leave the air intake off and make a neat chin mounted weapon system though.
reckoning
I love everything about these models, except for the shoulders. Not that they distract from the overall job, which is outstanding. Im just not a fan of those particular shoulders. Still a beautiful group of models.

Mercadius
Absolutely fantastic. Beautifully painted force with heaps of character! This is the first time I have seen the Anvil shoulderpads look better than just 'ok' - they really add to the GW kits here.
