Inquisitor Engel
So here's a weird request. Does anyone has a picture of a regular GW terminator body using the arms and shoulder pads from the FW Tartaros pattern? I've tried all kinds of google search combinations, but it escapes me. If you have the parts handy, even a Blu-tack approximation will do. Why? I love the arms, but hate the barel-chest of the Tarataros patterns. I think a combination of the two would suit my Night Lords quite nicely. Thanks in advance! zerorunner
My Tartaros Termies are on their way. If it helps you at all, I will try to get pictures of the standard arms they come with blue tacked to some other unfinished standard Termies I own, old metals and plastics alike. Hopefully, someone more forum savvy than I will come along before than and give you a quality response. Inquisitor Engel
So some quick photoshop from Forge World's size comparison chart (which I believe is all on the same plane and angle) lead me to this image: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8426/7525559128_c464ff259a.jpg They SEEM big enough and while I'm not a big fan of the pose that resulted, it was enough promise for me to order some bitz from eBay to try out. Thoughts? They seem a tad lacking in protection, but also nicely "pre-Heresy-ish" without being gigantic. Many of the Cataphracti-esque ones I've seen seem TOO big in general. frostclaw222
Sorry for the threadomancy here, but I was about to ask same question but searched and decided best not to start a new thread. I think the big issue with Tartaros arms, particularly the "Space Marine Terminator Weapons Set" with the combi-weapons, power maul, etc, is that the arms don't go all the way up to the shoulder. The shoulders come with the actual Tartaros bodies. So, I think the question actually becomes: will the upgrade arms work with a normal GW terminator torso and shoulder pad, or will it look like the guy has short-arm syndrome? If someone who's got the bits lying around can blue-tack or soft-fit test this, I'd be very grateful. Got some of the upgrade sets for the combi-weapons and power weapons, but now I'm looking at those power fists and really wanting to use them, but not wanting to buy multiple sets of Tartaros termies when the Cataphractii are calling..... This is what I ended up doing: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8290/7563947288_b236ac8e1e_z.jpg They seem okay to me. Enough that I acquired... um, all of them. Enough for a 10-man Terminator Squad at least. The Cataphractii will also be added later on, but I think it's okay. frostclaw222
So, Engel, did you just mock up the shoulders? And how did you deal with the fore-shortened upper arms? Looks nice, just trying to figure out how much work this conversion of yours took.
