Gentlemanloser
Hi all, I've had a great time here, and enjoyed almost all of the various debates I've had. :P The community is brilliant, and I found a nice haven to discuss the army that has bought me both joy and heartache. But sadly now it's time to leave, and find somewhere else. :tu: Allies are a major part of the new edition, one of the more intricate and flexible new systems, and I feel the B&Cs stance on allies is just too restrictive. Especially with Flyers playing an important part of the game. HOWEVER this does not mean we won’t let you discuss your allies. You will be restricted to where you can discuss them though. If your army list is 2 armies currently covered by the B&C as allies then you can discuss them wherever it is appropriate for that. But if your allies list contains armies we do not cover (i.e. Xenos and Imperial Guard) then your lists and how best to use your non power armor allies will be restricted to the Tactica and Army List forums. Obviously full Xenos and IG armies won’t be allowed at all. Nor will a Xenos/IG army with Marines/Sisters/Chaos as allies. Because lets be honest, if you are allying with vile Xenos then your Chapter should be hunted down, destroyed and the ashes used to salt the earth/ I can't use this sub forum to discuss allying any non PA armies, and I can't even discuss the possibilities of using my army as an ally to a non PA army anywhere on this site. While I repsect the decision of the Boards to stay this way, it's not a place for me. The interaction with allies is too intracle for 6th to me, and I'd like to be able to discuss all possiblities surrounding my army of choice, without restriction. Number6/INP, this thread needs deletion; http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=254840 I wish everyone good luck getting to grips with 6th, and I hope the other allies threads stay open, even though they talk about Eldar and other Xeno races. May 6th edition bring you more enjoyment than the previous ones! Pax! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255194-so-long/ Share on other sites
adamv6
Sorry to see you go Gentleman. I agree that the boards decision is far too restrictive. For me, as long as the main crux of any discussion is centred around the PA force, the additional discussion about non-PA allies is fine in any area of the forum. IMHO, its a flawed logic that won't accept that. :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255194-so-long/#findComment-3105018 Share on other sites

Abaddonshand
It'll be a shame to lose someone so active on the forums, are you sure you won't reconsider? The policy is supposedly reviewable in the future after all. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255194-so-long/#findComment-3105025 Share on other sites
Cmdr Shepard
If I'm not mistaken you can discuss allies in army list and tactica sub-forums so you can still remain among us and discuss allies as well, Gentleman. I'd suggest you to reconsider your decision. You are a very active member of this community and your posts have been useful to many members. As Abaddonshand said this policy is supposedly reviewable in the future. If you want my opinion: I think allies broght 40k to a new dimension. They will soon become a very important part of the game. I believe in order to keep our armies competitive we'll have to deal with the "alliances issue". I hope the policy will change in the future. If I read correctly we can post a list thta uses allies in the army lists sub frorum, even though we cann't discuss it in the other forums. Am I correct? Inquisitor Fox
While I fully respect your decision, I wish you would reconsider. Allies that are non-power armored can indeed be discussed in the Tactica and Army-list portions of the board (i.e., Grey Knight/Necron, Grey Knight/Eldar, etc pairs) as opposed to here in the OI. That being said, I hope that you find whatever your are looking for and continued success in the hobby. Don't be a stranger :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255194-so-long/#findComment-3105793 Share on other sites

thade
Respectfully, this seems like an uncharacteristic over-reaction. <3 That we can't discuss non-Power Armored armies without involving Power Armored armies in the discussion isn't much of a change. Besides, you'll be hard pressed to find a community as well-managed and even-keeled as this one for discussing 40K. <3 I am often thankful I'm an Imperium nerd. Best of luck to you. Here's hoping you return sooner than later. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255194-so-long/#findComment-3107468 Share on other sites
