Vivster
Hey guys in the C: SM it says that the wargear for tactical squad marines consists of a bolter and boltpistol and other stuff. Now I am confused that if you have a botlpistol showing, can you use your bolter and vice versa? This is also really important since, I am thinking of modeling some marines in certain poses. Thanks, Vivster Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255296-bolter-or-boltpistol-or-both/ Share on other sites
travisb7
Just have a bolter slung over their shoulder, hanging down tactical style. I've had Marines with a Bolter "magnetized" to their backpack as well. I think for WYSIWYG, all standard equipment is assumed, so for the Rule of Cool, you don't have to show EVERYTHING (hence why many marines do NOT have grenades visible, but can use them in game). striker8
Basic equipment listed is always implied by stats whether or not represented on the model. WYSIWYG kicks in only for things that are no standard for that model. So for example a Tac marine modeled with just a bolter, by the stat line is still equiped with not only the bolter but also the pistol and grenades listed. If that same marine mini was modeled with just the pistol, the bolter and grenades are still usable since they are always present by the statline unless you choose and option that would replace them and at that point that deviation from standard must be represented on the model.
