whiteridder Posted February 15, 2013 Share Posted February 15, 2013 I use regular 3 in 1750-1850 points games. 2 LRC, 1 LR, Logan, and 3 squads of wolfguard terminators. Results depends on my enemy. Most of the times I win or got a drawn, and sometimes I lose. I sometimes lose all my Landraiders, and last 2 games all 3 my landraiders stays on table. Turn 1, everything moves forward 12 inch, shoot with machine spirit (no snapshots, because I don't have weapons for snapshots, or am I wrong), turn 2 move 6 inch, walk out of the tank and try to assault. toonarmy Posted February 15, 2013 Share Posted February 15, 2013 I have just started to use a land raider redeemer that outflanks in my fun list. I think that land raiders are more fragile like all vehicles, but, armour 14 is still tough. I have also noticed that people in my local area, myself included, have been taking less melta and more plasma due to the move to less mechanised lists. i have seen people take a land raider and put nothing in it. montegue Posted February 15, 2013 Share Posted February 15, 2013 Logan, a group of 6 Terminators with Combi Plasma and either Frost Blades (axes, if you're feeling like you don't need the init) or just the standard power weapons, and a Rune Priest with Master of Runes on Divination in termi armor with his own Combi Plasma. Land raider goes 12", you disembark and go 6 more inches out, putting you in charge range on turn 1, which you can do after popping off a devastating plasma double tap. Give your unit rerolls with divination, and maybe if you get lucky you can force the enemy to reroll successful saves with the second warp charge off the Div priest. Just a thought. The Land Raider can then offer supporting fire and what not while your Terminators and Grimnar wreck shop, That unit becomes a scoring unit, so that's also a positive thing. Nightmare84 Posted February 16, 2013 Share Posted February 16, 2013 I don't eggs in one basket my raider but I find them more powerful. Less melta around, hull points is annoying but now glances have no chance of destroying weapon systems or preventin movement etc I find it just hurtles along.
