Vexicus
Hail Brothers, I am currently redoing my Librarian for the 6th and am going to change his head but i cant decide if i should give him a helmet or use another bare head. He used to have the tactical marine head with the rebreather on but i decided that i didnt like that anymore and wanted a change. I have never seen a Librarian with a helmet on before so i thought id be different, but is there a reason for this? I hope my fellow brothers can help me out in a moment of crisis. Many Thanks Vex Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255394-librarians-and-helmets/ Share on other sites

Raphiel
The Forgeworld model for librarian Sevrin Loth has a helmet. I converted my own librarian with a helmet as well. You can see it here. Haranin
librarian Sevrin Loth- cool model. I like it much better then GW's librarians. Might need to go looking for one... Pig Of Sparta
In addition to FW's Sevrin Loth mentioned above, back in the 1990's GW produced Librarians of each rank (Lexicanium, Codicier and Epistolary) in helmeted and bare headed flavours. This link shows two of them if you scroll down to the HQ-Librarian section. In my opinion the wearing of a helmet is entirely up to each individual character. The arguements for and against have been debated many times on the B&C but it basically boils down to what you want to do. Although the examples we've given do show that there is precedent for Librarians wearing helmets you're right in saying that seeing them these days is quite rare. If you're adding one to your Libby, you could try adding some cabling made from guitar string to the helmet similar to the old school mini's... What you could do is paint up a helmet you like and a bare head you like and see which one you think looks best  hope that helps James Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255394-librarians-and-helmets/#findComment-3109196 Share on other sites
Urauloth
I think the only reason you normally see them without helmets is to make them stand out, what with all the hardware plugged into their noggins. There's definitely a precedent for them wearing helmets, and no fluff reasons why they shouldn't, so if you want him to wear one, go for it. You should probably make it a fancy helmet, though. SickSix
I got the finecast Terminator Librarian which made cutting out his bare head and inserting a Termi helmet a breeze! Marines should always have helmets. It's just dumb not to. Even in the fluff most everyone wears a helmet unless it gets damaged.
