Aqui
Rai Lurweiss, Lord of the Bahltimyr Reavers could see his quarry ahead. In the shadows as he was, he was certain that even the enhanced senses the other had would not alert them of his presence until it was too late. The battlefield was shrouded in darkness, the rain clouds blocking the sun from view, leaving everything in shades of grey. The rain itself was torrential, Lurweiss himself bearly able to see more than a few metres ahead himself. He had eschewed the use of his Power sword, preferring a Chainsword that was dull in colour. Reflective surfaces cost lives, and the remnants of the Chapter he led were experts at stealth. Now as a Traitor Warband, the surviving members excelled in terror tactics.....well, the members who hadn't been changed beyond even his belief at least. A smile came to his lips, something that no one amongst his subordinates had ever seen. He was enjoying himself, playing cat to the Loyalists mouse. A pity that soon he would have to end it, and proceed onwards. He had more pressing matters to attend and he shouldn't waste his time. Checking that his enemy was still oblivious to him, Lurweiss closed in. It was times like this that he felt alive again, where he still had control of his fate. The Gods weaved his fate now, and Slag knows where that would take him. But for now, the moment was his. He was now within ten feet of him. So close in fact that even without his helmets sensors, he could quite clearly see the seams in the armour underneath the paint. Lifting his Chainsword, he moved in for the kill...... And both he and his prey were surprised by an Ork. The thing was massive. Nearly ten feet of Green hulking Xeno who was mightily pissed off. Perhaps using the Waaaah! as cover to achieve his Warbands aims wasn't such a good idea after all. The Ork had seen them both, lunging for the Loyalist, being nearer. The other Marine was startled by the sight of this other enemy, but was too busy trying to fend the Ork off. The Greenskin had grabbed him by the shoulder and tossed him to the side like a doll. falling bodily to the floor, the mud covering his armour. The sucking mud was hampering him from getting up. Good Thought Lurweiss. This will make it easier.... Unwilling to slip in the mire the battlefield had become, Lurweiss allowed the Ork to charge him, who had paid the ground no heed at all. The charge itself would have been devastating, had the Ork not considered that once accelerating on such a trecherous, uneven surface, he was not very likely to be able to keep his balance. Or stop. The Ork tried to turn the charge into a tackle, to at least get Lurweiss to the ground, but instead fell flat on his face, still moving at speed. Once the momentum of the charge had given out, the Ork tried to get up, realising that he had stopped at Lurweiss' feet. The stickiness of the mud held the Ork fast, and it made his bonds stronger by thrashing harder and harder effectively digging himself further and further in. Lurweiss was amused, but time was ticking. "'Oomie scum! Imperial boot Likka!" howled the Ork in broken Low Gothic. "Do I look Imperial?" Lurweiss snarled, pointing at the shoulder guard. The Orks eyes widened as it tried to focus. "Yes. Now You realise." Lifting his Chainsword high, Lurweiss hacked the Orks head off. The Ork dead, He turned to the stricken Marine. The Marines eyes fixed upon him. "You look surprised Imperial. I may have turned away from the Corpse God. But one thing that I still believe is, suffer not the Xeno to live." Cradling the Chainsword in his hands, he turned his full attention to the other, the smile returning to his face, contorting his features under the helmet. "Now.....where were we?" Aqui
Thank you both ;) I may use this thread to do some other "one off" stuff further down the line. I want to get E Tenebrae Lux and the Liber Campaign out of the way first! ;) Edit: Gorram, smegging typos!
