Use and care of weathering brushes

Recommended Posts

The sponge tipped kind. I just bought a Tamiya fine weathering brush (no weathering powders yet) and, well, the whole package is in Japanese, so if there are use/care instructions, they're lost on me, nor can I find anything about it on their website.

Is it possible to "wash" them? Seems to me that they'd absorb and hold water if you tried that, but if you don't clean them somehow, you'll end up with with a big color amalgam on your brush.

And do you stipple/poke with them, or paint/drag to get the weathering effect with powders? Can they be used with paints?
