Byrne
Hehe... I need help to deal withe these pesky little creatures and since I don´t have a Necrone codex, its hard to tell what works or not. Everytime I run up with a unit against Necrons, I seem to end up in a fight i with a lord with mind shackle. Our units have a nack of falling to that 3d6 test. one thing I have been thinking about is to make one wolf guard with TDA and stormshield, no power weapon, just to soak up that challange. but then I started to think about Fenrisian wolves, as they are wargear.... (and yes I want this to work :) .. shouldn´t our characters have them with in their challnge? seem wierd to leave some wargears :P and that would give me a little fighting chance. is there any other way to beat MSs? Nadir
They are a swarm. Fry them with your flamers and frag missilles. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255547-pesky-mind-shackle-scarabs/#findComment-3109213 Share on other sites
Byrne
I belive they are a necron character equipment, not a swarm base. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255547-pesky-mind-shackle-scarabs/#findComment-3109228 Share on other sites
Chapter Master Ignis Domus
I belive they are a necron character equipment, not a swarm base. Correct. If a model fails a Leadership test on a 3D6, then he attacks his own unit. elithren
The scarab ruling is that it goes against a random model in base contact with the bearer. With challenges making them auto target the person they are challenging, they can be lethal. Just the other day, I saw Mephiston kill himself cause he failed his leadership test twice, being forced to direct his attacks at himself. That was funny. So, outside of challenges, try to have your big hitters not in base with the lord carrying the scarabs. Having a lone gray hunter hitting you with normal attacks is better then the wolfguard hitting you with his powerfist. Also, this goes for each round of assault, not just the first, so you have to keep testing for the scarabs. elithren
Yes, single units can attack themselves. In the necron FAQ. Silly daemon prince, stop hitting yourself! I only briefly read Necron FAQ, there are many of them, you know ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255547-pesky-mind-shackle-scarabs/#findComment-3109482 Share on other sites
elithren
No problem. Side note, all their normal HQ choices can take it, as well as the normal lords that act as their kind of wolf guard pack leaders. I played Necrons few times to represent Adeptus Mechanicus...never used them but it was during 5th edition. By the way characters can target models if they get 6 to hit. It may be a good way to snipe them. ;) Or simply using a cheap character to challange the Lord/Overlord while the rest of your unit destroy the other necrons. Rember you can choose the character for a challange. Stormbrow II
Jaws is the light and the way. Target the unholy robot abomination and see if he can save on a 6 and if not that, then die on a 3+. And know that sniping/closest modelling them out of units with firepower before ye begin yon assault phase is another way to deal with the heathen. Now go forth and spread the Word. And know that the word is Jaws. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255547-pesky-mind-shackle-scarabs/#findComment-3109525 Share on other sites

I forgot to mention it my previous post and I came here to "update" it. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255547-pesky-mind-shackle-scarabs/#findComment-3110073 Share on other sites
