Urauloth
I have a set of 3mm x .5mm magnets here which I believe are n45 grade and I'm looking to restock on them because I'm rapidly running out. They're extremely useful, they'll hold a space marine arm to the torso with enough strength that you can pick the model up by the arm, and they're fine for torso-to-leg bonds as well. Unfortunately, I can't for the life of me find any n45 magnets of the right size, so my questions are: Will n40 be significantly weaker - enough to cause problems? Will a thinner magnet of a higher grade (n50 3mm x 1mm) do the same job? I'm reasonably new to magnets, so I'm still learning. Tanhausen
IIRC, the magnets I use are N38 (not sure, but likely) and 3x1mm: they work perfectly for terminators. Urauloth
I won't worry too much about the slight drop in grade then, cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255561-need-some-magnet-advice/#findComment-3110894 Share on other sites
Urauloth
As an update, I ended up ordering both, and the N40 1x1.5mm and the N50 1x1mm seem to have the exact same pull strength as far as I can determine (basic pulling and fitting tests) so in case anyone else has this question in the future, they're interchangeable  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255561-need-some-magnet-advice/#findComment-3119623 Share on other sites
