SgtTelion
Hi guys, Whilst reading thought the new rule book, I came across something that confused me a little. P.67 of the new rule book states: "The psyker must have LoS to his target. This means that a psyker embarked on a transport can only target himself, his vehicle or another unit embarked on the same vehicle as the psyker" I take it our Rune Priests can no longer do anything whilst inside a rhino? Am I reading this wrong? Cheers! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255570-6th-ed-rune-priests-in-transports/ Share on other sites

SgtTelion
That's what I'm thinking. Just to clarify for anyone else reading this: My definition of a rune priest "doing things", is if course, using psychic powers. hendrik
how is this new? in 5th you couldn't cast a power like jaws or living lightning in a razorback either. powers like stormcaller are still possible Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255570-6th-ed-rune-priests-in-transports/#findComment-3109416 Share on other sites
JamesI
how is this new? in 5th you couldn't cast a power like jaws or living lightning in a razorback either. powers like stormcaller are still possible well, storm caller is different, it doesn't target anything specific. Some of the new powers in the rulebook require targeting a unit, which can not be done except on the unit in the vehicle. hendrik
I still don't see any difference with 5th edition honestly. during 5th we couldn't use living lightning (or any other shooting psychic power) when embarked in a vehicle without firing points. am I missing something? eyeslikethunder
p 69 a witchfire attack is a shooting attack , a psyker embarked on a vehicle can target a unit outside that vehicle by using a fire point @hendrik I think he was saying that even with firepoint you cant do anything which seems to be true of non witchfire(non psychic shooting attacks)spells which require los. Blessings and maledictions mainly I would have thought Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255570-6th-ed-rune-priests-in-transports/#findComment-3109455 Share on other sites

But they can't be used in a transport except for the guys in the transport. SgtTelion
The way I have interpreted the rule is by thinking that the rule states that firing points are useless to us now, as that rule seems to nerf them. I'm probably looking into this wrong, but I can't be the only one. I didn't know 5th edition too well, I only played a handful of games using it, my last fling with 40k was 3rd, so bear with my ancient thinking! I had to return due to the new wolves. It just had to be done. However, now that 6th is upon us, I intend to play it death, and take a hold of the hobby again! So I'm looking into the rules more than before. elithren
The new book is odd, the fire point entry says that witchfire and psychic shooting attacks can be used out of it, but the actual psyker section says they cant. Also, I have yet to find anything on special abilities that need LoS and whether they can use Fire points or not. Looks like an oxymoron in the ruling.
