Simple question... if someone blows up an opposing players purchased fortifications such as an Imperial Bastion and the mission stated is victory points... does this qualify as an earned victory point?

I disagree.

When you look up units in your Codex, three is an entry for each one called Unit Type. The fortifications have no such entry, it is instead replaced with the entry Terrain Type. Additionally, on the bottom left hand column of page 109, there is a sentence with regards to fortifications that begins 'Unlike units, fortifications are not...'. The reminder really makes no difference, that sentence implies that fortifications are NOT units. Additionally, the reference in Appendix 2 (page 410) lists the unit types,a nd none of the Terrain Types nor fortifications are mentioned in the key. Also, entry for the Aegis Defence Line and Skyshield Landing Pad, and all references contained therein, do not mention any Armor Value or Hull Points for them. They appear to be indestructible as far as I can tell with a 5 minute search. The Gun Emplacement is destructible. None of this expressly says fortifications are not units, but the weight of evidence supports as much.

Well page 92 says they can't be destroyed. Well, they can't be completely destroyed in page 92. And the building damage chart doesn't say anything about taking the model off, it just says units inside take hits and then it can't be used anymore.

The main question is whether it counts as a unit. Not too sure about that one, especially as it's taken from the Force Org chart.

The two I mentions (Aegis Defence Line and Skyshield Landing Pad ARE indestructible).

Yes, terrain buildings and bunkers have an AV, and can be damaged/destroyed. the Aegis Defence Line (sans gun) and Skyshield Landing Pad are not buildings or bunkers. One is Battlefield Debris and the other is unique.

If they were units, you'd have 2 indestructible units that don't give up VP.
