Wolfguard gunslinger 6ed

Recommended Posts

I used a Wolf Priest with PP and Hunter, a WG with dual PP with a unit of GH with PP, 2x PG, MotW, Power Axe yesterday and they worked quite well.

I wasn't able to use them as efficiently as I wanted due to some unfortunate decisions I had to make on the battle field, but the 8 plasma shots the unit can put out did quite a bit of damage.

The unit is very expensive, but they are also equipped to deal with most threats that could come their way.

Valerian, did you get to try these out yet?

No, not yet. I don't know when I'll get to play again. Work, kids, and life tend to get in the way of my getting to the LGS. Plus, I'd prefer to get all of my new models painted before I put them on the table. So far, I've only gotten as far as building the new models that I intend to incorporate. I still have a few more changes to complete first.

I was thinking lone wolf with twin plasma pistols , jump pack, wolf tooth necklace, melta bombs and runic armour... 110 points of fast moving, heavy hitting, hard to knock down monster hunting machine.

2 pre-charge, strong ranged attacks, hammer of wrath attack on charge, followed by 4 cc attacks on the charge, at full initiative, and then 3 as standard.

Would the cc attacks be at the strength of the plasma pistols, or the lone wolf base strength?

I appreciate that he's not as useful as the w/g configuration, but I like the lone wolf units.

Except, where would you get the Runic Armor and Jump Pack? They're not available options for that unit.

I know it will become a bit expensive but has anyone used a Lone Wolf gunslinger in smaller games?

2 plasma pistols

melta bombs

MoTW

I've used this set up often in both larger and smaller games. In the larger games I've given him a couple of wolves for cover. He always gets his points back plus more. In the larger games (1800-2000 pts) I've always had a problem that he didn't die at the end of the game and I lost the VP. The smaller games (under 1000 pts) he was just fun. One I had him runnning around with a pack of BCs just causing havoc.
