captain_shrike
So I return after 18 months or so totally cut off from the hobby to find a whole load of new paints, which unfortunately seeing as the main colour for my Storm Giants is Rotting Flesh, has put me in a spot of bother. If you don't know the Storm Giants colour scheme, take a look at Marius Perdo's Doom Fist's, who use pretty much the same colour scheme. Using the old colours the scheme would be a black undercoat, followed by a Gretchin Green basecoat, a layer of Rotting Flesh and a wash of Devlan Mud. Now the Gretchin Green would be replaced by Deathworld Forest I believe, but I have no clue on the Rotting Flesh or Devlan Mud wash. Any help would be much appreciated  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255590-painting-storm-giants/ Share on other sites

captain_shrike
For some reason neither me or the guy who works in my local GW could find Rotting Flesh on the conversion chart. Haha. Cheers. Lucien Eilam
It took me a while too. I remembered Rotting Flesh as more a greyish-brown than a green. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255590-painting-storm-giants/#findComment-3110747 Share on other sites
captain_shrike
Yeah in the pot it looks off green. Once on a model its a sort of pale yellowy colour. hmk17
Be very careful looking at the splotches for the new Citadel line, those things are off by good bit. It's really a good idea to splotch your old color on a index card and find the match while looking at the paints in the store. Vallejo still makes their Game color line (based on the old GW line) so Rotting Flesh / Dead Flesh and Gretchin Green / Heavy Khaki are pretty close; if you don't mind swapping brands and can find Vallejo. From the Warp & Mordian 7th did a look into the washes. Agrax Earthshade is pretty freaking close (plus it flows much better along with not smelling horrible), the new Strong Tone Quickshade (in 18ml dropper bottle) from Army Painter was virtually identical in color.
