Kingkaneda
Ok I see people talking about using flamers in overwacht to get d3 hits......But the only thing i read in the 6th edition is that templates cannot snap fire, and that in overwacht units shoot their gun using snap fire. So where do people get this idea about using flamers during overwacht? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255597-overwacht-flamers/ Share on other sites
Legatus
Page 52 explains how template weapons work. Under "Wall of Death" it describes how they are used against charging foes. The second paragrap reads "Template weapons can fire Overwatch, even though they cannot fire Snap Shots" in bold, and then describes that it inflicts the d3 hits. thade
Blast Weapons cannot Snap Fire; Template Weapons can. The term "template" is (and has been) an unfortunately overloaded one. (This was also true in last edition.) While the "pie plates" are templates, the rules specifically define Template Weapon as a Flamer-type: the "tear drop" template. So, yes: d3 hits out of the Flamer on Overwatch. :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255597-overwacht-flamers/#findComment-3110200 Share on other sites
breng77
Template weapons can over watch but cannot otherwise snap fire it is in the template rules, this is largely only relavent to tanks like the redeemer, you cannot move 12 and fire everything.
