Jagermonster
Throwing my two pence in but i thin kthat a Storm Eagle is an absolute beast. 4 hull points and some of the options make it (in my opinion) far better than a lot of other flyers used in 40K. Expensive tho it may be (in points and pennies) it can easily domite the skies of a battlefield by itself. Nose mounted multi-melta with two twin lascannons and extra armour make it a real threat to anything else in the air. The missile batteries and transport capacity mean you can make an early aggressive move to secure objectives or concentrate against enemy armour and tanks. Very expensive but i think if used correctly it could well dominate almost anything else that you will see in the air, and once its has beaten off the competition in the air it ony becomes harder to kill as it zooms across the battlefield Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255886-space-wolves-and-fliers/page/2/#findComment-3119527 Share on other sites
sdavid86
In regards to the chaplain/death company/stormraven poster Chaplains are, indeed, not HQs for Blood Angels. BA has Reclusiarchs. 30 points more for +1 Init, +1 Attack and +1 Wound. ItchiBuh
OK, first off, WD does say Codex: Space marine (under the picture on right side page) and does not mention anyone else. Also, with the new Rule Book Codex marines get Stormraven since it is mentioned under Space Marines vehicles. Â I do not remember if there is a specific table for space wolves, if not, I would say it they are both legal options. Â Secondly, how are you going to field 2 IG Veteran squads? That is 2 troop choices, allies detatchment requires you take 1 HQ and 1 Troop. It does not allow you take more though. Also, vendettas are not dedicated vehicles, so would have to be bought as a squadron, and I am not sure if allies can do that. Vassakov
OK, first off, WD does say Codex: Space marine (under the picture on right side page) and does not mention anyone else. Â Yes. Codex Space Marines Only. Â Also, with the new Rule Book Codex marines get Stormraven since it is mentioned under Space Marines vehicles.I do not remember if there is a specific table for space wolves, if not, I would say it they are both legal options. Â All vehicles in Space Marine Codices are listed together for brevities sake. By this logic, Grey Knights suddenly get Vindicators and Whirlwinds, which they don't. Furthermore, the iPad edition of C:SM has now been fully patched for 6th Ed (New Close Combat Weapon stats, New USR's etc) and the Stormraven is nowhere to be seen. Â One Troops and One HQ is a minimum for an allied detachment. You may then take a maximum of 1 Elites, 1 Fast Attack, 1 Heavy Support and 1 additional Troops choice. (Pg 109 of the BRB.) As for the squadrons point... yes. You may take a single option, which would include a vehicle squadron. Â Seriously, how many times is this argument going to have to be rehashed? Â Page 109 of the new BRB regarding Allied Detachments. 1x HQ and 1x Troop unit are compulsory. Another Troop choice and 1x from Elites, Fast Attack, and Heavy Support may also be taken in addition. Canis Majoris
Grimnar "Whats that up there Ragnar?" Â *Ragnar looks up" Â Ragnar " Hmm looks like one of those flying pansy things the blood angels use, and it looks like hes flying right at us my lord " Â *Grimnar Spits and stands tall* Â Grimnar "Stand fast pup, i'm betting he'll swerve first" Â My view on flyers for space wolves...who needs em, we're space wolves ! Canis Majoris
I prefer to think we use em as transports to get to the battles but fight the old fashioned way :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/255886-space-wolves-and-fliers/page/2/#findComment-3120450 Share on other sites
