Tactics

I play Blood Angles and we have neither Chapter nor Combat Tactics instead we are subject to Red Thirst. I plan on taking an Allied detachment from the C:SM, I may even take an HQ with Chapter Tactics. How do you think these tactics will work in 6th with detachments? I can see many possibilities.

1. Primary and Allied Detachments are each treated seperately as in 5th ed.

2. Only the Primary Detachment may use it's Combat/Chapter Tactics.

3. In the case of Blood Angels neither may use Combat/Chapter Tactics.

Perhaps I missed the rule? Anyone have any input?

Long story short is that there will be no interaction.

Combat Tactics are listed as part of a Space Marine's (codex) special rules. BA dont have them so they will not affect us.

Edit: looks like the FAQed Vulcan too!

Are you saying that an Allied Detachment will keep it's Combat/Chapter Tactics?

Yeah, of course. They don't lose any special rules just because they're allies. So they benefit from their own special rules (including combat/chapter tactics). However, because BA don't have combat tactics, they will not get those benefits. Pretty straight-forward.

Also, it's worth noting that the Marine FAQ reworded all Combat Tactics etc to only work with friendly Codex: Space Marine units, so nothing to see here basically. :P
