chaptermasters
;) wth is wrong with every one of them, where the shoulder is malformed on back of the pauldron? anyone have a remedy for this besides the subtlest scraping of an exacto? Paint it Boltgun I don't think it malformed in the way you may be thinking. It isn't sculpted how you would expect as the shoulder pad would get stuck in the plastic mould if they had. But I think it's meant to be an extra bit of armour plate or heat shield. At the risk of turning in to a troll. How much better would the push fit kits be if they increased the component count to 4 from 3. like they did with the terminators. The Space Marine's arms could be separate from the body (opening up so many possibilities). The Dreadnought could have longer exhausts (I hate those short ones!), the orks could have both arms detach (stopping any prospect of identical looking models). ShinyRhino
That lump is a result of how the mold is made. The deep undercut required to separate the pad from the launcher tube end is physically impossible for the steel injection moulds used to make the kits. It's possible with rubber molds used for pewter and resin, but degrades the life of said mold. You can either file the area down, or just paint it the shoulder pad color. No one will trult notice, or care. Theirs will look the same! Brother Tancred
I always thought that was just a bit of extra armour plating to rest the missile launcher on and modelled deliberately that way.
