hrafnkel
As stated above, how has 6th ed changed Njal, considering he was able to use all the RP powers in 5th. how does one play him out now? if he's reduced to a common RP, might as well take him out and add in 2 RPs. Wolfsbane
Still negates psychic powers on a 3+ within 24" and still does the tempest. He is mastery level 2. He can have all space wolf powers, all space wolf powers and 1 roll, or 2 rolls. He's still pretty boss if you ask me. Rune_Priest_Rhapsody
So you trade the use of any of the SW codex powers for two randomly rolled BRB powers with him if you choose to do so?? Is that correct?? Seems like keeping him using the dex powers is boss. The BRB ones, not so much... you might as well take a non-named Rune Priest. At 245pts before upgrade to RTDA to obtain the 4+ inv, he remains with only 2 wounds, that just hurts so bad at that many points. dragon950
Compared to a normal RP he is more expensive, at most he should run 200-210. If the tempest wasn't so random then I would say he would be worth his points. But then I say all the special characters are overpriced by 30 points or more. Khine
One thing i wondered... The driving gale reduced enemy shooting by -1 BS ... does that mean that enemy models within 24" while its active effectively have a BS - Overwatch? or is there an faq about this? cause that is pretty devastating. dragon950
I think that in overwatch that any to hit is 1 after any buff. Like PF, CF, PA, and TH, now it would affect the psychic power that makes them hit at their normal BS. CainTheHunter
So if he discards SW psypowers for two rolls, does he get to keep the Lord of Tempests abilities or not? frostclaw222
Do 6s and 7s on Lord of Tempest even effect flyers? I realize that most psychic shooting attacks are going to be snapshot against aircraft, but since this is an area effect, I gotta ask. Sure, it's unreliable. But it makes for a heck of an endgame edge.... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/256118-njal-in-6th-ed/#findComment-3116252 Share on other sites

Yep, looks good to me. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/256118-njal-in-6th-ed/#findComment-3116350 Share on other sites

That's like giving any of chapter character like .. 200 wounds. I'm sure you know the rule "Shrug" where on a 2+ a space wolf just shrugs off you attacks? :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/256118-njal-in-6th-ed/#findComment-3116538 Share on other sites

The fact that he comes with Runic Armor (2+ armor save) should not be easily overlooked. A 2+ armor save is so much better in 6th than in 5th. Yes, while a great boon in 6th Ed, that does nothing for perils of the warp. I really like his character and my only issue with his the fact that he only has two wounds. For 245 points thats a bit of a gamble IMO. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/256118-njal-in-6th-ed/#findComment-3117016 Share on other sites

Yeah, I tried to see about adding him to my three rune priest list but it just seemed it was best leaving him out of the mix. Too many compromises to get him to fit. Of course he does, Cain, those are his special rules, and are not psychic powers.
