Drop pod capacity?

Ok not sure if this is a new issue from 6th or just a typo.

Codex says as allways...10 models or 1 dred.

So why does it say on gw's website under drop pods in both space marine and space wolves section...12 models capacity?

Has it been like this on the website forever and just been wrong? or have they changed the capacity from 10 to 12 in 6th?

If its true and 12 models can now be taken that will improve our podding plasma hunters list greatly :P

Happy days!

I remember something being said, when i tried getting back into the game in 5th ed, that space wolves were the only chapter able to deploy TDA from drop pods. So i though it best to ask.

incorrect. it would be correct to say that a DP is the only way that SW can DEEP STRIKE their TDA

Toaster,

I'm at work, so no codices with me, but I think he's right. The other Chapters (Codex SM, BA, DA, etc.) don't have Drop Pods as options for their Terminators, if my memory serves. Thus, the Space Wolves are the only Chapter able to deploy TDA via Drop Pods (meaning regular TDA units, but not TDA Characters, which can always attach to a unit in a Drop Pod).

Can someone double check me on this?

That is correct. Wolf Guard are the only terminators who can take drop pods as dedicated transports. They're also the only terminators who can have Razorbacks as dedicated transports, and the only Terminators who can bolster their reslience by being in a squad that is half Terminators and half bikes. Wolf Guard are weird, which is why we love them.

but keep in mind also that the only units in the entire SW codex (with no book here) that can DS are drop pods, and land speeders (i want to say skyclaws but i dont think that they can even though that have jump packs, but i will stand corrected if they can since i dont have my book here).

so in effect i am also still correct. :HQ:

Drop Pods, Land Speeders, and Sky Claws can all Deep Strike. You are correct in that Drop Pods are the only way that our Wolf Guard in TDA can Deep Strike, but I think that you probably misunderstood or misread SgtTelion's post, because what you sought to correct was already, in fact, true.

Moving on now...

the only Terminators who can bolster their reslience by being in a squad that is half Terminators and half bikes. Wolf Guard are weird, which is why we love them.

;) i never thought of this before .. thanks for the idea .. expensive but wow. Also, Bikes + PP/PP .. could this be the survivability answer for our gun slingers??

A Wolf Gaurd on a bike, with two plasma pistols, is 73pts.

I dont think 73pts is an answer to anything really. Not with a 3+ save and one wound.
