Paladins and Termies interchangable?

I recently started Grey Knights after playing Space Marines (Salamanders) for about 5 yrs. I recently purchased the following:

20 X terminators

10 X PA GK

1 X DKnight

Curious what your thoughts are on using terminators as Paladins and vice a versa depending on the game. The only visible difference I can see in the codex is 4 Psycannons compared to 2 (10 man squad) and their heraldry shield on their shoulder pads are a little fancier. The only reason I ask is like many of you Im a gamer on a budget and may not be able to add a ton of terminators for awhile. My game group is friendly and it wont be a problem and the few tourneys I play in seem pretty laid back. Any advice is appreciated on any of my purchase thanks for the help.

I have paladins. When 6th was released there was a 500 point tourny at my local gw store, so I made 10 gk Termies from my 15man pally squad. I didn't put banners or shields on my paladins, they are pretty bare of extra equipment. As long as you can tell, and its easy to spot the difference I wouldn't have any issue. If you are using models exactly the same for paladins and terminators it could get confusing, so make something simple that is easy to spot, like blue tac shields onto the paladins.
I plan on taking my pewter Terminators and adding the "back banner" bits to call them Paladins. I plan on Terminators without the "back banner" bits being Terminators. In that sense, if you make the "back banner" bits interchangable somehow with pins or something, and just say that if it's got a banner it's a Paladin, that seems pretty simple :)
I’ve assembled all may new (plastic) Terminators as Paladins with the back banners. But I mix them up with my old (metal) Terminators. To keep it simple I never run units of Terminators together with units of paladins. Ether they are all terminators or all Paladins, so there is never any confusion .
There are two different helmets for paladins and terminators if you look at the pictures in the codex and the assembly instructions, and paladins are depicted as having the back accessories. However it makes very little difference so long as your opponent is clear on what he's facing (so if you run both it's polite to make it obvious which squad is which).
Just be careful how many psycannon Terminators you assemble. Paladins can field four, but regular Terminators only two (although of course, you add one back in using the TDA Inquisitor they roll with now). Also, Paladins can make swords work (depending on how you challenge), but they're wasted on normal Terminators (who only have one wound, so they might as well take a halberd and strike first).
