Torvak Kyre
I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but i recently purchased a can of the white spray paint from GW. I shook it well and wasn't spraying to much and too close but it still came out thick. is this normal for the paint or is it just my can. Help appreciated Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/256702-white-spray-paint/ Share on other sites
Brother Nihm
If by shaking it well means you shook it for longer than 5 minutes, then I think you either got a bad batch or the air humidity/proximity to the model may have affected your spray job. If it is really bad, I'd strip the paint from the model, shake the can for a lot longer and then try again. :) My 2 Kraks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/256702-white-spray-paint/#findComment-3123668 Share on other sites
Cyrox
Also a few things to consider: Dont spay outside if its been raining recently, or its cold, as that can make the paint chalky Make sure you don't spray in a temperature that is vastly different from where the paint is stored - so if its kept at room temperature, don't go outside and spray immediately if its hotter or colder out. The paint needs to be at the same temperature as the place you are spraying. Spay in short bursts from side to side, sweeping over the model. Never a prolonged burst in the same place, or it will pool on the model. The GW white is very fussy. whereas their Black spray is very forgiving and pretty damn good. Good luck! ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/256702-white-spray-paint/#findComment-3124045 Share on other sites

PHS
a tip given to me by a friend who restores old cars is to carefully warm the can up with hot water , it helps to get the paint on smoother Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/256702-white-spray-paint/#findComment-3127405 Share on other sites
