Surfing Raziel
Well it's been awhile since I posted on here, most due to the small nuclear explosion located where my once beautiful desktop was housed. Anyway I’ve been recently focusing on building my Deathwatch army, using various items to denote Chapter differences, at the same time usable in game. Here are some examples More recently I've aquired this from a friend strapped for cash, my original intent was to sell it on ebay. But it's been looking at me, all the while it's been quitely asking to stay. I'm about 75% in favour of keeping it and have a few items floating around, I would like you guys honest opinion. This is my diagram of my alpha stage of base design planned out, it would feature three Deathwatch Space Marines and several rippers winged and normal. The scenery includes the Honoured Imperium set and another undecided building. The left one used with circle 1, the middle with circle 2 and the last under the right foot's back toe on the Titan. The first might be flying a little higher than the base about half way between the crotch of the Titan and the base, the last squashed under the left foot of the Titan. The Box between the Titan's legs is the base of the Space Marine Statue in the Honoured Imperium set, the other part in under the Titan's right foot (this replaces the falcon which is there at the moment). Circle one would be using the HI base as cover, only to have the Ripper attack his throat (using the flat handed arm from the Tactical’s missile launcher). Circle 2would have his foot on a ripper and shooting a few holes into it's head. The last circle (3) would be running forward. That leaves the 90o corner of a building, I was thinking lollypop sticks for floorboards and the left over Rippers swarming out of a freshly created hole in the ground, possible over a dead Marine. Anyway it's really early days and as I said I'm still on the bench, but he could be beautiful. Son of Carnelian
I would love to see this idea executed. Sounds very cool! esinhorn
The 3rd Titan pics pose kind of looks like when Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck dance on stage with canes. Not the other shots,it is just what that pic brought to my mind, but I am slightly insane. Surfing Raziel
Thanks Marshall, it's really something I'd love to do, but time and money are things that restrain us all. And yeah Esinhorn the pictures aren't the best but it's not pinned between the legs and body and the body with the guns. So it's partly me using an iphone and because I can't take a picture from a distance, due to me needing to hold him together. Surfing Raziel
I've recieved the Honoured Imperium with the Space Marine Statue and I've removed the Falcon from under the right foot. This is what it looks like free of clutter This is the completed Space Marine Statue, I've glued all but not the feet/base, Power Sword and Combat Shield. Under the right foor the Statue feels very large and bulky, the original plan was to cut from the knee at a downward angle, to give a defiled impression (I'll alter further as well). However it looks like I'll have to dig into the base a little and whittle the back down a little, but this should lead to a more realistic feel due to the immense weight bearing down. fivepointedstar
take a hammer to the statue to flatting it out, and make it broken-like that should give the effect of it being stepped on. Surfing Raziel
Well I've taken all the joints apart and removed all the modeling putty. Sorting all the pipes and hydraulics took most of the night, pinning them to keep them straight and finally I pinned the knee joints and leveled the crotch. This is what it looks like so far, I’ve added the armour for the photo but they’re not glue yet. I've also altered the statue and dug into the base to fit it a little better, it can even now have the torso resting nicely. I'm not just waiting on some metal coat hangers to use as pinning for the weapons and torso to legs. Surfing Raziel
I'll be altering the statue even further but for now I'm just have it all fits, but later I hope that it'll come out like this. http://www.ifelix.co.uk/images994/IMG_0090.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/256745-an-epic-battle-between-deathwatch-space-marines-and-tyranids/#findComment-3127478 Share on other sites
