Grimtooth
I was reading Tales of Heresy tonight and got to thinking; I cannot recall any fluff of the VI Legion bringing a world into compliance peacefully. This coupled with what battles have been portrayed in the HH novels seems to indicate that they were only called in for the destruction of especially difficult non-compliant worlds. Are there any worlds brought into compliace peacefully that could be attributed to the VI Legion? I just thought of one, Kaeriol. This is the planet that the Wolf Brothers successor chapter was to call their homeworld. That might have brought to compliance without destruction. Anywhere else? hendrik
I guess it depends on what you understand as attributed. It's been made pretty clear I believe that, in some cases, just the nearing presence of a legion was enough for a world to peacefully be brought in compliance. on second thought; from our own point of view it makes sense that not a lot is known about these worlds. a peacefull compliance is nothing truely saga worthy and thus not something the members of the 6th will be describing in great detail. As far as I know remembracers were also a rare sight in the 6th (I can only recall 1) so the only other source that might deliver us such information would be either a member of the imperial army, one of our members of the kaerl forces or simply another space amrine from another (possibly escorting) legion edit: in general I just believe the legions were given general "directions" into which each of them would be expanding the empire, each backed up by a part of the imperial army as well as a fleet designed for quick settlement Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/256760-the-vi-legion-and-the-great-crusade/#findComment-3124176 Share on other sites
Daddywarcrimes
I'd agree that no one hears about peaceful compliances because they make for boring stories. I'm sure the Thousand Sons, Salamanders, Word Bearers, and Ultramarines would celebrate their peaceful compliances, but there's no glory in standing over a foe to shows his throat at the first bared fang.
