Colour scheme

Recommended Posts

I have the idea of a chapter to field but i do not know. What the colours should be any good ideas would help and to help you with the colour scheme i have. Doved them the "Emperor`s Storm".

An non-Compliant Adeptus Astartes chapter roughly 13 companies, they favor close quaters firefights or blitzkreig tactics over all.

For each battle ready company is a Emperor`s champion.

the back bone of the chapter`s strength is A squad type know as Torrents Skilled in fast moving action and urban combat to trench warfare.

Finally the first company is composed of Artificer terminator armor skillfuly crafted by the forge masters. Each stooped in chapter icongraphy and battle honors of predecessors and their own.

Thanks for your help. I didn`t think i would find any thing good but i did and its kinda a dark wolves pattern sadly. I wished for a bit more originality but hey i probably will acutally develop fluff for them to make it more unique isk.

So far looking good thanks for the replies looking good. I like deathknight`s idea pretty well i tried to find a good grayish green or purple but these ideas are great for Ecritter i was thinking a sliver armour trim.

You could always try and find other themes from which you can find a color source, to augment the storm-related themes.

For instance, I have a Chapter called the Storm Bearers, that place a slightly heightened value on the Chapter Armory and Librarium. So the three colors I went with in painting the so far only one model was a Mechanicum red shoulder-pad, Librarian blue body, while having the trim and assorted iconography be differing shades of gray. The reds and blues aren't exactly the same shades as the Techmarine red or Librarian blue, but the two colors were chosen for the heightened importance the two auxiliary functions have to the over-all Chapter. Eventually, I'd like to try my hand at some of the lightning iconography the Night Lords are known for, though if I do their presence will be kept small.

That's something you could try as well. If a storm is the sole theme to base the color off of, you could also go the Night Lords route. The blues and whites will be evident in the lightning bolts across the armor of the Marine, with the actual colors being a mixture of dark greys, that sort of thing. Each Marine will be a storm cloud in both appearance and demeanor. Or you can try for some other themes to mix it up a bit.

Thanks that is the best i`ve read so far i will look at this more. But the problem is since they`re a fast attack, urban warfare, trench warfare and such i am probably going to go more a drab blue or gray to help with a camouflaging effect. To it but so far i will take this into consideration. i have the chapters main icon a metallic sliver could with a lighting bolt striking out.

For urban combat, especially in Hives, dark and light shades of grey/blue are definitely a good idea. Though if it's camouflage, I'd stay away from the rather colorful displays already posted, and go with more towards muted colors. And besides, the lightning/storm motif doesn't have to be thoroughly intertwined with the color scheme. You said it'd be fast attack, with a storm motif that kind of sounds like jump-pack Marines landing with all the force and crack of a thunderbolt. Whatever the color scheme, that alone is a good stormy image. You could always go with what you would like to see on a regular basis, and what you are most comfortable painting, and keep the storm-related themes in other arenas.
