Shadow14_8
I have a couple army questions I hope you'll answer for me. How does the nemesis Pyker test work in CC to activate weapons.. For example do I have to take the test each round off combat or just first turn of it? How does the instant kill with the activated nemesis weapons work exactly? Reclusiarch Darius
Every round of combat, when you inflict the FIRST unsaved wound with a nemesis weapon (usually a halberd, although swords also go before hammers), you then take the test (or if you have a Bro Banner, you can choose to activate automatically with no test required). If the test is successful, all squad members (but not attached Independant Characters) now inflict Instant Death with all unsaved wounds they inflict with their nemesis weapons. Nemesis weapons which activate under the above rules inflict Instant Death. So, if your opponent has Eternal Warrior, he will just take a wound like normal. If he doesn't have Eternal Warrior, he is removed from play immediately (treated as having lost all his wounds in one go). thade
Yes, this means the Hammers and Swords are both activated for the round when you activate the Halberds for that round. <3 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/256823-nemesis-weapons-questions/#findComment-3125355 Share on other sites
Shadow14_8
OK thanks so I only need to inflict a wound from the first Halberd attack and then a psychic test happens. They would still get INV saves though if Im not mistaken. Yeah, so to reiterate; Step 1: Roll to hit and wound with your highest Initiative nemesis weapons (halberds usually) Step 2: Enemy rolls 2+ armour, or if not that any invul save they have Step 3: If any saves are failed, on the first unsaved wound you inflict, make a psychic test Step 4: If successful, those unsaved wounds and any subsequent unsaved wounds you inflict (with swords, hammers etc) cause Instant Death Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/256823-nemesis-weapons-questions/#findComment-3125992 Share on other sites
thade
OK thanks so I only need to inflict a wound from the first Halberd attack and then a psychic test happens. They would still get INV saves though if Im not mistaken. Your Nemesis Force Weapons are all AP3 except for your Nemesis Doom Hammers, which are AP2. Opponent models always get Invuln saves against your Nemesis weapons...activating them doesn't skip the saves. You only activate upon landing an unsaved wound. After that, you do still need to inflict wounds for the active force weapons to outright kill any given model (meaning, yes, if they succeed in their Invuln save they will not suffer Instant Death). For example, picture a unit with a Chaplain and a Space Marine Captain, both in Terminator Armor. One of your knights with a Halberd (at I6) hits the Chaplain, who fails his 2+ armor save; you activate your Force Weapons and outright kill him dead. Next, one of your knights with a Sword (at I4) hits the Captain, who succeeds on his 2+ armor save, so you don't wound him. Had he failed his 2+, the wound would've inflicted Instant Death without testing (because you activated the weapons when the Halberd wounded the Chaplain). In the next round of combat, you'll need to test again in the same way if you want to Force Weapon kill the Captain. ADDENDUM: How I missed Darius's post summarizing, I'm not sure. Here's hoping my wordy elucidation still proves useful here. <3 EDITS: Egregious error. Everything you've been told as a lie. Shadow14_8
Thanks. This will feel different then Im used to it seems. Basically have to attack with first halberd and sort the whole thing out before I can move on to any other members of squad. Certainly worth it to outright kill a character though! Reclusiarch Darius
Yeah, that is the main use. It also means that when fighting units of characters, we don't have to keep taking psychic tests. Just remember though, if you do fail the first time, you can't try again (and you likely lose your Justicar/Flame Knight to Perils as a result). ValourousHeart
One of your knights with a Halberd (at I6) hits the Chaplain, who fails both his 2+ armor save and his 4+ Rosarius save; you activate your Force Weapons and outright kill him dead. Thade, I guess I missed that. I thought you got either 2+ or 4+ but not both... What page do I need to reread? thade
Yes, you only get one, and I'm a noob who has been corrupted by Warhammer Fantasy. Don't mind me. <3 I'll fix that little error. Shadow14_8
Ok got it except do the first wound or wounds before activation cause instant death? Probably not but hey had to ask. thade
You test on the first wound caused, and you only get to try once per (player) turn to activate it. :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/256823-nemesis-weapons-questions/#findComment-3128287 Share on other sites
